(It can also be extended to more general highlighting of matching blocks - so acts as a kind of block searching mechanism, as per the original suggestion.)

In addition to this, I think adding “find other copies of this block” (for all blocks) and “find this block's definition” (for custom blocks) (EDIT: Already exists. Yay!) to the right click menu would be a good idea.

The second one already exists - it was added not that long ago. See the “define” item in the drop-down menu:

As for the first, I already have that (and more) in my own version of the editor, and it's certainly very useful on some occasions. (See screenshots in the github pull request.) I do hope these enhancements make it into the online player at some point, though I suspect it will be quite a while, unfortunately (particularly since it really could do with the block render refactor changes in place, to help speed up script rendering when moving around the script pane so much - but that change still needs a lot of work before it's ready for widespread use…)
