-Snip-How does OpenAI upkeep ChatGPT if they're not getting enough money to fund it? And lfg30700 is wrong about everything costing something - it doesn't cost anything to breathe oxygen, does it? And I'm talking about an extension that will allow Scratchers to make projects that contain AI (there's your clarification, AquaKelpie53, you're welcome). And the thing that you humans are failing to understand is, AI is the future of everything, and it will not leech the creativity out of anything (in fact, in this case, it would encourage it!!!)! And with the leadership program, new members of Scratch would be flowing in, which would make it easier to host such an extension on Scratch. And I noticed you both mentioned that the Scratch Team still needs to pay for the servers, but who are they paying the money to? For all we know, it's possible they're being forced to pay the money to an evil web developer who is keeping the donations all to themselves! Omg, is Scratch just a massive money laundering scheme!? Okay, I'm getting carried away now lol - but you also both said it will suck the creativity out of Scratch, but as I said repeatedly, it'll do the exact opposite of that!

How does OpenAI upkeep ChatGPT if they're not getting enough money to fund it?Presumably loans or something like that. Not really many other options. I'm sure you can look into it, that's why the internet exists.
And lfg30700 is wrong about everything costing something - it doesn't cost anything to breathe oxygen, does it?It takes energy. And it takes money to keep the air that oxygen is in breathable. Might seem a bit ridiculous but everything requires some sort of cost, whether monetary, physical labor, etc.
And I'm talking about an extension that will allow Scratchers to make projects that contain AI (there's your clarification, AquaKelpie53, you're welcome). That leaves just as many questions as before, but okay.
And the thing that you humans are failing to understand is… are you implying you aren't human or something..?
AI is the future of everything,It may very well be, but so is the sun going supernova. Does that mean it's a good thing?
and it will not leech the creativity out of anything (in fact, in this case, it would encourage it!!!)!Did you read what either of us said? It steals ideas and writings from people who are actually creative. It then takes those and decides what would be the nest next word based off of the millions of writings it's stolen.
And with the leadership program, new members of Scratch would be flowing in,New members are likely to be rarer than donations. The only thing that the Scratch Team can count on from them is a donation every year.
which would make it easier to host such an extension on Scratch.Again, server costs. They can't afford to spend everything on new extensions, certainly not an ENTIRE AI which OPENAI ITSELF doesn't make enough money to keep up.
And I noticed you both mentioned that the Scratch Team still needs to pay for the servers, but who are they paying the money to? For all we know, it's possible they're being forced to pay the money to an evil web developer who is keeping the donations all to themselves! Omg, is Scratch just a massive money laundering scheme!?You asked about this in the Trending Searches topic. I told you I didn't know and that you could always use contact us,(again, still an option).
Okay, I'm getting carried away now lol - but you also both said it will suck the creativity out of Scratch, but as I said repeatedly, it'll do the exact opposite of that! And as I've said repeatedly, it steals ideas. It takes and takes and takes and gives something that isn't even it's own. All that just for a few paragraphs.

AI Music steals other Peoples works of Music
AI Images is lazy since you have hands that can draw
An AI assistant is not bad because it won't do the code but will help if you know what I mean

And I noticed you both mentioned that the Scratch Team still needs to pay for the servers, but who are they paying the money to? For all we know, it's possible they're being forced to pay the money to an evil web developer who is keeping the donations all to themselves!I can't answer that but
Theres a saying if the Product is free you are the product scratch relies on donations also….
How do you know they pay to an Evil web developer do you have a source that said that?
Anyways heres a source of where donations go according to Scratch Wiki
Since donations are what Scratch run on, donations practically go everywhere in Scratch, but here are a few places:
Developing new versions of Scratch
Moderating activity in the online Scratch community
Developing new support materials 1

I feel like this is well-trodden ground by now. We've had a number of topics both for and against generative AI. This topic is getting pretty flammy so I'm going to close it. I expect as the next generation of Scratch gets closer to roll-out we'll have a better understanding of how it is likely to be used in Scratch. That might be the time to hear suggestions.
