Yesterday, one of my friends showed me this website containing mockups of Scratch before it even released:

If you click on these links, you may find early image mockups which I had never seen of early Scratch logos and a mockup of the project interface, for example.

My question is, who made these images and proposals? Why were they made, and why were they stored on this website? This looks to be something which is ‘a part of Scratch,’ even though I'd never remotely heard about it before.
