I noticed that there’s a topic for searching for the music loop origins and a topic for searching for the sound effect origins (Go help them out in all seriousness! They do need it!) but not illustration origins? I made this topic just for that. As of right know I know who created some of the backdrops but I found them in a GitHub script menu so I’ll have to search for it later, I do also know that the Cassy sprite was made by herself (and possibly the same for the other sprites showing people) and ceebee made the instrument sprites (for international jazz day) and scratch cat was made by wing ngan.

I’ll make a list later cuz there’s a lot so far.

You probably know that some (backdrops) come from other sources, for example:
The Galaxy backdrop is just the Andromeda galaxy
the Nebula backdrop is a zoomed in image of Hubble's Bubble (yes, it is called that i think)
Stars… (idk, it is a real image)
in total, Galaxy and Nebula are just pics a telescope took, tho i'm not sure what was used to take the Stars

Yeah I know that backdrops sprites from 2.0 and 3.0 have attributions and nice find for the champ99 origin! I’ll add that to the list (so that’s 2 dance sprites that are made by scratch team themselves!)

And also yesterday I discovered searching initials bring up backdrops, which made me find that the person with the initials “W N” made Colorful City

how i found all those (the TCF project using the bg was discovered by me last year), first search in Scratch something related or what fits to that bg like “woods”, “forest” “trees”, then keep scrolling down and bingo you found an underrated project using it.

woah sorry to ask but would i be able to make one of these but for game samples? or is that not allowed, as for backgrounds i think the best bet would be to look on sites that sell/have free to use vector art backgrounds and shutterstock for the real place photos

The vector ones (like Hearts, Circles and Blue Sky) might've been made my ST in the vector editor.
I suggest you just discard Blue Sky 2 as it's literally one flat rectangle (with a random small line for some reason?)

I think I once saw the original scoreboard from the 1.4 “Scoreboard” sprite but my mom unfortunately drove past it and I couldn't take a picture.
