WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
That variable slider was made using a regular slider and a large readout. Variable sliders have not changed.

It seems to be blue for me. What browser are you using?

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
It depends on your device and browser
My browser / operating system: Windows Vista, Firefox 140.0, No Flash versions detected

Chrome might have changed something, but Scratch didn't change anything here
Edit:
Should I try to find untitled-2 and untitled on this account

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
they mean in scratch 3. the current version uses an <input> tag so it’s not the same.
that said, i don’t think chrome changed anything at all.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
The color of your slider is based on your browser's settings. Mine is pink one on device
… So three things could have happened.
One, you switched devices. Two, you changed your settings. Or three, the browser updated.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
I think this happens on ChromeOS
I am on macOS 11, and have it looking like this

and I am pretty sure I heard in a topic like this recently that on ChromeOS it uses the “Accent color” or whatever.

Yeah, it's likely a Chrome OS thing.. if this wasn't happening before, then Chrome probably did some update that added that.According to that image, everything that is supposed to be blue appears white in projects on my device.I can't see the image properly my school administrator blocks nearly everything related to cube upload.https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1204288236/

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
(outline because i was selecting with tab)

this is cool ngl. i think scratch is just purplifying more things.
edit: oh, this applies to my entire browser. it happened right after a chrome update so it’s probably that.

This could easily be reverted by using css, but this is really neat and i prefer it like this.

(outline because i was selecting with tab)Sadly, I don't have the power to debug my school Chromebook, my school administrator has the best opportunity.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VARIABLE SLIDERS?
Update: it depends on your chromeobook accent color. You can change it in the wallpaper change menu.
The accent-color attribute applies to sliders, checkboxes, radio buttons and progress bars.
