Project SGR (Scratch Game Ratings) - Looking for Staff
Hello to anybody who is reading this. This is @SGRatings speaking, I'm looking for staff! I do expect that you'll probably have some questions, so, see below!
What is SGR/Scratch Game Ratings?
Project SGR (Scratch Game Ratings) is a team of judges that will rate people's games on-demand. I've noticed that the quality of projects on trending has decreased from when I first started Scratch 5 years ago. Even sometimes featured projects aren't guaranteed fun-to-play games and the generic projects and the ones that have qualities in the areas ST wants to showcase for the week overshadows actual quality projects and leaves them unnoticed and unrecognized. {GREEN} This is where SGR comes in, project creators ask us to rate their projects, and we judge how good they are based on our rating scale. The rated projects would then be put in a studio where projects would be featured every week based on certain criteria and there would be a ‘hall of fame section’ that holds projects that score over a certain amount. With this setup it will help with unnoticed Scratchers and their projects being noticed and for people to find quality projects to play when they can't always trust trending or featured projects.
Hasn't a project rating system been rejected?
Yes, a suggestion for a project rating system has been rejected. I remember the reason being something like ‘New Scratchers may be discouraged if their project gets a low rating, and it may cause them to quit {FISH}. This is true to some extent. This is why we don’t rate projects without the creator's consent. If a person wants their project to be rated, then they should know that there is the chance that their project might get rated poorly. We therefore advise Scratchers and New Scratchers to know that their project may be rated poorly, we judge based on project quality not skill for their amount of experience.
What if somebody gets discouraged from your rating?
This, unfortunately, is somewhat likely to happen. If a person wants their project to be rated, then they may not realize that their project may be rated poorly. If their project does get rated poorly then they might get discouraged or decide to quit, we do know that
. So, we do want you to know that we rate project based on quality, we compare it to things that @griffpatch might make. {ASPARAGUS} You may have good skill or good project quality for your experience level, or how long you've been on Scratch for. If you do get a poor-quality rating, then we want you to keep trying to be inspired to get a higher project rating not to quit. We want you to keep trying, keep practicing, keep getting better, until you do have a good project rating, even if you got a bad rating at first.
What exactly are the jobs you want?
We're looking for judges, a team of 5 judges specifically. @IceBlockStudios owns this account so @IceBlockStudios is automatically one of the judges. That's pretty much all we're looking for as of now, there may be more openings for jobs in the future.
Is there an application?
Yes, there is an application. You can see the application below:
My username:
My experience: (Have you been a judge of a contest? Have you had experience with judging in general?)
My activity level: (1-10, how active are you usually?)
Why I think I would be a good fit:
Have you read the whole post: (codewords go here in a sentence they are marked like this: {EXAMPLE (this is not a code word)})
Thank you for reading the whole post!
Hope you have a {GREAT} day.

I would like to apply!I'll think about it, but remember, although I know about experience, I personally am judging based on project quality. That's not necessarily meaning that YOU have to, just remember, that you're rating will get averaged out.

Have not judged before but I am honest about what I say about projects

I love checking out projects and rating them. I am also great with statistics
Green asparagus great (which I full-heartedly agree) I can’t say I agree about the fish part though

I like fish. But are you talking about it being wrapped around the asparagus, then it’s a no for me. However, if you take the asparagus, put oil over them, and some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stick them in the air fryer until they’re crispy…I’ll join.I think that you're probably accepted. But… WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T LIKE FISH? can you guys rate my game?Hey alessio34r! this is ChosenOne354. I'll be the judge for your game today using the SGR Rating Scale https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1196260779/.
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/981783257/
here is the game
Art: 6/10
Music & Sound: 0/10
Involvement: 10/10
Storyline/Plot or Gameplay Loop: 4/5
Bugs/Glitchiness: 4/10 (some attack buttons are unclickable)
Features and Mechanics: 6/10
Creativity: 10/10
Replayability: 4/5
Genre Fit: 5/5
Polish: 6/15
Player Usability: 1/3
Clarity and Instructions: 0/2
Total Score: 5.9/10
Not a bad concept. Could use music and sound. Give some more mechanics, options, or abilities as right now it is kind of basic. Make sure all buttons are clickable. In my first fight I couldn't click the counter or rock throw option. Also make sure to give instructions about you're project. I walked in not knowing what was going on. Keep going though, you're doing great!
