People can't play most games because they play with mobile!

Scratch isn’t made to only make games and isn’t either a gaming platform. What’s more it’s not to ST to make them mobile friendly. It’s to creators, if they want and if the type of the game allow them.

all games should still be mobile friendly!

how would you want to do that? ban people who don't make their games mobile friendly?

That suggestion might go against TOLORS 3.4:

TOLORS states:
3.4 Censor projects with no coding
Scratch encourages creativity of many kinds, not just programming. As a result, many kinds of projects are allowed, such as algorithms, games, art, animations, music, and others. Some of these projects do not necessarily need any scripts in them, and the Scratch Team will not require that they do.

You cannot just add a block that adds a joystick or something, because it would not cover everything. Most coders here do not even consider mobile friendly because it is a lot more effort and harder.

Objection- Scratch 3.0 was designed to be usable on tablets.

Better pointer event support would be nice, but it still doesn't change the fact that this is up to creators

If such a block existed, how would it be implemented?

If it doesn't have any code behind it, then people would just put it in their projects anyways, regardless of if it's mobile friendly or not, just so that they can share the project. Not to mention projects that do not require a control system, or don't use keyboard input anyways and are possible to use on mobile without explicit mobile support.

Yeah it would also be stupid to ban people who did not spend so much time implementing mobile controls into their platformer or whatever like mentioned before
