Happy Pride Month, everyone!

Pride Month is a celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Community in recognition of the impact LGBTQ+ folks have had on the world. It is celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan, which were the tipping point in the movement for LGBTQ liberation in the United States. Today, celebrations are held around the world and include pride parades, picnics, parties, and more.

Whether you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, Pride Month is for everyone! We invite you to celebrate here on Scratch. If you are looking for ways to celebrate, you might consider:

• Creating a project to wish someone a happy Pride Month
  
• Designing a project about someone who inspires you in the LGBTQ+ community
  
• Animating a Pride celebration party or parade
  
• Making a project that allows others to design their own Pride-inspired flag or character
  
• Writing a poem or story about being an ally
  
• Designing a kindness generator that shares messages of encouragement related to Pride and inclusivity
  
• Creating a project to help others learn about the history of Pride Month

There are so many ways to celebrate Pride Month. The choice of what to make or how to celebrate is up to you!
