Trending used to be so good; now it is absolute garbage. 99% of the projects are low effort, generic, and garbage projects, while the 1% of the good projects get a 20% chance of even getting noticed. Yeah, not good. It never has been since 2025 and never will be until this gets FIXED! I have had enough of this. I tried my best, and we all tried our best, but Scratch never gets fixed. Scratch is turning into a garbage dump. If Scartcher sees this, spread the message on popular scarcthers' profiles to spread the name. This message should become a trending message that gets stuck in the community's head. Wait, what community? Oh yeah, I forgot, the community has vanished. Well, it looks like there is no hope. So I think this message will get forgotten and be unnoticed like the 100% of GOOD EFFORT PROJECTS OUT THERE!. Sorry for the caps, but it had to be said. This ENTIRE message is what almost all of us are thinking but won't say anything. Why? Cause we are afraid that we will get banned or bullied for being “mad”. Well, guess what? I just sent this. And I won't have any regrets. So Scratch team, if you see this, then please fix Scratch. Until then, bye scratch I QUIT!

It's because the tastes of the audience have changed. Just because something is on trending doesn't mean it has to be high quality, it just has to be well noticed.

Also, this suggestion is just a rant, with nothing to suggest how to improve Scratch. The Suggestions Forum is for suggestions, not rants.

Woah, let's calm down. Yes, you may not like a lot of projects from trending. Not all of them are my cup of tea either. However, those projects have to be very popular in order to appear on the page, meaning they aren't just there for no reason. Projects don't need tonnes of effort to be good. Most high-effort projects are good, but that doesn't mean that we can't celebrate other projects such as art or music that don't require as much coding than, say, games. If you see good projects that aren't popular, try adding them to studios or proposing for them to be featured. I definitely think there's still a community on Scratch, there always has been. Try having a look at studios you might be interested and participate in the SDS. There's a large community on Scratch that has many different kinds of people. And let's not “spread this message onto popular scratcher's profile” that would be spam, which certainly wouldn't help. Scratch won't ban you for being mad unless you're breaking the community guidelines or terms of use which you agree to when making an account, and if someone bullies you then you can report them. You can quit if you want to, I have no say in that, but personally, I wouldn't quit based on a lot of assumptions about Scratch that are untrue.

The suggestions subforum is open to everyone, not just the Scratch Team. You may want to use contact us if you want to privately contact them about something.
It's also not truthful to say “what most of us are thinking” when the (as of now) 2/3 of replies to this topic aren't exactly agreeing with you.

People like similar projects, and after a while, similar projects that belong to whatever is currently a trend become “generic”.

NOOO EVERYTHING ON TRENDING IS TOOKEN DOWN (probably due to mass reporting)

i think that everything on the first page of trending should not be able to be taken down unless the ST is absolutely sure it breaks their rules
