Rhythm Game Hit Detection
I'm trying to make a rhythm game, but after doing some basic parts, I realize that I don't know how to do hitboxes. I want it to be able to be set off early to get a miss or a bad and stuff like that, but how do I even make the notes detect if they're in the zone for a specific rating? Please help if possible, as I really don't want to have to brainstorm it,

If the area/zone boxes are too close together, You could make those hit/detection boxes skinnier to check if touching only single zones.
You could also say if touching zone A AND zone B, that could also be a possible midpoint.
