˗ˏˋ the docks are filled with noise, sailors scrambling around to prepare for their voyages. through the cacophony, a young cat with a pelt the colour of the clouday grey sky approaches you. curiousity twinkles in her eyes as she gazes at you. she abruptly turns around, flicking her tail, beckoning you to follow her. where is this young sailor leading you?

⚓︎ brief introduction.
hello hello everyone, people of the world, travelers, what ever you want to be called!! i'm april, your (mostly) average bookworm and phone addict.. i'm a Catholic girl using she/her pronouns. a few things i enjoy are reading, writing, drawing, and spending time with loved ones. i can play the piano and i am planning to learn how to play the guitar next! also, i am multilingual (or is it trilingual?), speaking english, mandarin and one more language i unfortunately can't reveal for my privacy (sorry sobsf). anyways, i can't wait to get to know you all better, let's move on!

⚓︎ activity levels (not required but i added it anyways)
from a scale of 1-10, i'd say i'm a 7-8/10. i tend to check scratch everyday,, but i have to warn you that i'm living somewhere very far from america (which is probs where a lot of y'all live) and i might not be online everytime due to time constraints. my timezone is utc+8 ,, but fortunately i am active most of the hours of the later day (afternoon, evening). but i am sorry to say that in the morning, i can't be online because i attend a school that will literally punish you if you have a phone in your hand at school hours (except if neccessary). also, sometimes i forget to reply to your comments or rps so feel free to ping me if needed ^^
+ sometimes i can go days without liking + faving anything on scratch, but i actually check this website everyday and just.. stalk people lmao.

⚓︎ past experience (also not needed but oh well..)
since i was a little kid (like 5 yo or smthing), i really liked reading and telling stories. i also frequently roleplayed with my friends, pretending to be a family and making stories together. as i grew older, i broadened my writing skills and my english teachers often acknowledged me for my writing. not trying to show off or anything, but i have received several awards in terms of writing. of course, i wouldn't say that i am the best writer, but i would say i have at least some kind of experience in writing stories.
for roleplaying on scratch, i started aproximately 2 years ago and i admit that i was terribly horrid at creating stories with other people lmao. when i started, i replied with two or three short sentences because of my lack of expertise. but now, i am not afraid to say that i have improved in my roleplaying skills. for the length of my rp replies, it can be versatile. i usually follow the person i am rping with. if they reply with one comment, i will reply with one comment. if they reply with four, i will follow suit.
for other rps, i have a lot that i can't recall since its been almost a year. for tfcrp, i have two current characters. i joined in early 2025, in january, by winning a loner named swan from an adoptables litter. he is currently 16(?) moons and still has a long life ahead of him i also just recently won valorkit, a shadowclan kit from petunia's beloved's litter. he is currently around 3 moons or smt like that :]

well, look at her omg!! (/vpos) i just love love love her design and honestly, applause to toki for designing her! anyways, i just fell in love with her scruffy fur, her adventurous eyes.
also,, the potential omg?? i instantly thought up of an idea,, so why not use it? the sunkissed sailor, the adventurer, the seafarer. so, here i am! putting my 5am ideas to the test :')
and plus, glory litter!! they seem like such a nice couple and family so like.. of course i'm gonna apply heheh..

⚓︎ future identity and orientations
i feel like coco will be proud, yk of how she was born. that's just the way she is. she trusts nature, and nature made her a female. if that's how nature wants her to be, she will follow. she will most likely be a cisgender female and use she/her pronouns for the rest of her life, choosing to stick with her original and natural identity.
for orientation, i feel like connie would be maybe biromantic/bisexual or panromantic/pansexual? i mean like, she doesn't really care about the gender, she cares about the insides yk?

⚓︎ research for half tail
.. what is a half tail?
a half tail in cats means that the cat will have- well, half of a normal tail. it's like the other half was chopped off and only a short amount of the tail is left. basically conch will have a shorter tail than most other cats (i think it's also called a bobtail so i did my research using that term since i can't find any reliable sources when i use the word ‘half tail’.
.. possible causes for half tail
usually half tails in cats occur due to a genetic mutation that makes the cat's tail seem shorter. half tails in cats are primarily caused by genetic factors that can be passed down and inherited through the previous half-tail cats in the line of ancestry. that is the most likely cause for coco's half tail.
.. how will it affect conch?
well generally a half-tailed cat is as healthy as any other cat, but some minor issues also come with having a half-tail.
1. spinal and hip problems
the genetic mutation that makes conch's tail seem chopped off can also make a cat more susceptible to issues with the spine, hips and nerves. conch will probably receive occasional back pain here and there.
2. possibility of kidney diseases
conch might get polysistic kidney disease (pkd), where cysts form on the kidneys. it is honestly unlikely that i'd give her this disease but oh well.
3. possibility of heart disease
along the course of her life, conch's short tail might make cause her to get hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (hcm) where the walls of the heart become thicker and it is less easy for blood to flow. honestly i won't give conch this problem but research is research, no?
4. balance issues
cats with a half tail honestly have some little itty bitty issues with their balance, yk because of their tails. usually cats use their tails to balance, conch will experience some difficulties with maybe balancing and be quite clumsy (?).
5. communication issues
sometimes cats use their body parts, including their tails, to express their emotions. conch will have difficulties using her tail to communicate, but she will have her other body parts and just adjust her physical expressions and gestures to maybe some other body part.

.. what is a snaggletooth?
well snaggletooths are basically teeth in a cat that are misaligned or in a crooked position. they might be in the wrong angle, causing a snaggletooth in cats.
.. possible causes
1. jaw misalignment
there is a possibility that conch has uneven jaw bones, which causes the misaligned tooth. since conch has most likely ‘overbite’, her upper jaw bone is positioned more forward than the lower jaw bone, which causes the overbite.
2. tooth misalignment
instead of the jawbones being uneven, the tooth itself could be misaligned or grew in the wrong position. the tooth wouldn't have grown in the correct way, hence the misaligned tooth.
3. trauma and retained baby teeth
honestly, this would both be unlikely since i'm assuming that conch was born with the snaggletooth. please correct me if i'm wrong.
.. how would this affect conch?
well, she'd honestly kinda suffer when eating hard foods. she'd have difficulty in eating, since her misaligned teeth get in the way of chewing. she might drool sometimes, and she might accidentally drop food when eating. other than that, the snaggletooth doesn't make much difference to her life and conch will just become a slower eater than she'd like.

˗ˏˋ after that unexpected voyage, you finally reach the familiar docks again. turns out they were just out fishing. the crew waves and the young feline sits upright, her tail swishing back and forth. you wave back at your temporary shipmates and set off, going home and preparing for an adventure another day.

the love language she likes to recieve is prob acts of service?? she doesn't care much about just sitting there for hours together without talking, she really doesn't care if she is given gifts and galore everyday (who knows the might just be meaningless gifts), words don't satisfy her and honestly she doesn't quite like physical touch. but if you maybe just.. gave up your prey for her since theres only one bird orr maybe you gave her your kitty cloak when she's cold… i can guarantee she will fall head first for you..
