No, it's not coming out this year.

At the earliest it'll come out in 2026, because development is starting soon, but will most likely be a multi-year project.

No one knows when Scratch 4.0 will be released, not even the Scratch Team.

Scratch 4.0 is supposed to start development in 2025, but its release date is still a mystery.

Let's wait for more information on Scratch 4.0 before trying to find out when it will release.

No one knows when itll come out, but a back-end job engineer pdf says it’ll start development in 2025.
Since it took 3 years to develop Scratch 3, Scratch 4 may release 2028.

Yes, that project is true. The Scratch Team has that document linked on their Jobs page which i got a post taken down for linking to, even though it's on the bottom of every page as a job listing for a Senior Back End Engineer.

The primary source in question can be found on the Jobs page (linked in the footer). We can't link it directly, as it encourages sharing contact info (it links to a place where you can apply for a job at the Scratch Foundation), but it is there.
