⤷ hiya! i'm ray but feel free to call me evelyn if you'd like. i'm currently working on using proper capitalisation since i generally don't for the sake of aesthetic, but it's been hindering my online writing so i'll be a bit inconsistent when writing. i'll try to stick to my general writing style but every now and then there might be a few inconsistent capitals, so sorry! my pronouns are she/her but feel free to use any feminine pronouns. some hobbies i have are tennis, drawing, writing and yapping lol. my favourite movies/series are frieren, haikyuuu!!!, and more.

ꕤ which kit and why?
⤷ the darling kitten pearlescentkit <3
⤷ he's just so adorable and i feel like i could make him feminine and girly like aphrodite ( technically he's a boy but stillllllll :p ) i'm also really in love with his design.. and you know.. more gay cats the better ehehe.
⤷ also, a bunch of ideas flooded my head immediately when i saw his shell bracelet. one of the things that symbolise aphrodite. so in the end, i decided to base him slightly off aphrodite, though not much because then i might as well just make him based of eros, aphrodite's son.

ꕤ activity
. . . i'm definitely not the most active person, so if you don't choose me, that's alright! on a scale of 1 to 10, my activity is more of a 6/10, and i only check in once a day unless i have absolutely nothing to do. generally, i'm only online for about 1 to 2 hours a day, but i try to make the most of it when i have the time.

⤷ playful and charming, elle is bound to take things less seriously and his main goal is to have fun. he's a bit of a player because he thinks of love as a game too, but that just adds to how playful he is. rather than never taking anything seriously and being sloppy and overly silly though, he turns almost every activity into a game and strives to win it. thanks to being charming, this helps to convince people into allowing him to rank at the very top. perhaps one day, he may turn becoming leader into a game and climb up to that role. sometimes though, he actually does take things seriously, without turning those things into a game. if he truly loves that thing, he's passionate and is willing to help do it or help it as much as he can. another helpful traits is that he's quick-witted- quick to think up solutions to problems, and pretty good ones too. with these positive traits, he can easily climb the ranks in every game and end up at the top, towering over all those he may have betrayed or used to get there.

⤷ a mix of contrasting and seemingly contradictory personality traits, it doesn't make any sense unless you meet the tom in person. ella is rather quiet and flirty, yet sensitive to criticism and being yelled at. though he won't show it, if those things happen he will cry for hours on end, though only once alone. being flirty, the tom will often wink or throw pick-up lines at others at random, sometimes call them dear or darling, and more. though being quiet is self explanatory, the albino feline won't talk much and mostly communicate through body language. then there's dramatic. not melodramatic, just dramatic. when yelled at, he usually only cries for an hour tops. the other few are mainly just him being more dramatic than he should be. in the end, though, sese is a somewhat sweet cat. though he doesn't show it very often at all, after gaining his trust and convincing him that you deserve his true love, he'll treat you.. somewhat well, give you gifts, and compliment you on the occasion. mainly just on beauty though.

. . . tripod cats are cats with only 3 legs. there is little information on cats born as tripods, so i'm assuming pearlescentkit lost his leg due to an accident, in this case, i'll say an animal bit off his leg, which is when essie's parents decided to send pearlescent away for his own safety. luckily, elle will not remember that day. only the rekindling of pain surging in his body and shivers up his neck when thinking about his leg. pearlescentkit will easily get used to this, though, and grow up like a normal cat. he can run and jump like any other cat, though every few moons or so he may attempt to scratch or push something down with his phantom leg. generally, this won't affect pearl much, though he might be somewhat irritated by it and sometimes will have a higher chance of failing high jumps, like over a two-leg fences.

. . . albinism in cats is caused by a genetic mutation that interferes with the formation of melanin, the pigment that gives colour to the hair, skin, and eyes. specifically, albinism is caused by mutations in the TYR or OCA2 genes, which are responsible for producing the enzymes responsible for the production of melanin. since albinism can only be obtained through the cat inheriting the albinism gene ( a mutant gene ) from both parents, i'm assuming that both carried albinism somewhere in their genetic code. since cats with albinism can get skin cancer and other skin problems more easily, essie will likely stay inside a den during the hottest parts of the day, usually coming out in early morning or in the afternoon. because of albinism, pearlescentkit will also have photophobia, which will make him tear up and have headaches when his eyes are exposed to sun. i'm assuming this will develop around apprentice or warrior age, because when he was found by two-legs as a kitten he must have gone to the vet for regular check-ups and he might have also been given sunglasses of some sort. maybe he'll wear sunglasses if he's forced to go out in hot parts of the day, which would have been given by his previous two-legs :3 elle will also likely have some hearing loss as he grows older.

. . . loveless romance
⤷ destined to have several lovers that essie hardly cares for, he'll have a leaf crown kept from childhood. with every loveless romance he participates in, he adds a yellow flower to his crown. sometimes, he'll add white, withered roses. a symbol of the lack of impression present in his relationships.

. . . unfaithful valentine arc
⤷ pearlescent's very first romance does not include mutual affection. the other cat in the relationship has fallen into a grave rabbit hole of unfaithful romance, often being ignored, neglected, given heartless gifts of yellow roses, and lacking affection. elle will not care at all for them and will continue to be a huge flirt to others during this time, about late apprenticeship through early warrior moons. this ‘lover’ of his won't feel any love, and will end up ending the relationship.
⤷ in the future, this ‘lover’ of pearlescent may attempt to kill essie's true lover, of which i will refer to as adonis, aphrodite's most loved lover. ena will not realise it is this one particular past lover and will not shift the blame to them, but this event will change essie's personality greatly ( more elaborated in red roses arc )

. . . not-so perfect father arc
⤷ during his early warrior moons, lee will take a walk outside, thinking about the next victim to add to his ‘love life’ before finding a bundle of 2 or 3 kittens, spoiling them with as much love, attention and care kittens could get. at some point in their lives, he may start using them to his advantage, though subtly and not very negatively, mostly to just collect flowers for him, play cupid for him, etc. obviously he'll love them dearly, but being a terrible parental figure, he obviously won't treat them like experienced, good parents would.

. . . red roses arc
⤷ in the far future, pearl will find his true lover. originally, he'll just be playing with them, up until he's hit with the biggest, most genuine crush ever. he'll do almost anything for that cat and pay close attention to what they do, in an attempt to keep them safe. instead of giving them yellow roses, he'll give them white roses. at some point, he'll confess to them and maybe one day after that have an incident where essie's very first ‘lover’ attempts to kill his true, actually loved, lover. but, after all, they won't really die like adonis did. instead, they'll have a near-death experience in a field with red rose bushes surrounding them, with pearlescent crouching and sobbing by their body.
⤷ after this experience, pearlescent will have a slight change of heart and be a bit less vengeful, unfaithful, and self-centred.

. . . deserving of his love arc
⤷ before the red roses arc, sese will find a cat other than family that truly deserves his love. at some point, he'll realise that a certain cat does indeed deserve his affection and trust to be his real friend. it'll slowly develop after observing the personality of that cat, thinking they're just a pawn, when it hits him- they deserve his affection. they're good enough for that. they're pretty, have a nice personality, and obey what pearlescent says. so therefore, they deserve his love. that will be his final though about them before accepting them as a real friend and not just a pawn in his game.

. . . i was absolutely shattered when i realised i couldn't apply for nimbus in the windclan itwrp litter.. and then it turns out i could! in the end though, i decided to just apply for a different kit, either rainsweptkit of the thunderclan kickstarter litter or atlaskit of the shadowclan litter. then i stared at the litter with the least applications- seaborne. after a bit of thinking, i realised i liked pearlescentkit more than all the other kits, and back then i was thinking of greek gods for some reason, maybe because epic the musical.. but aphrodite just clicked to me. that's why elle is slightly based off- or maybe very- aphrodite.

. . . thank you so, so much for reading this! spending all my scratch screen time while giggling, smiling and rolling around on my bed right after breakfast on the 19th of January, 2025, literally at 10:30 AM- especially after nearly forgetting what joy felt like- almost all in one go to attempt to finish the whole thing and failing miserably means so much to me, and i know that even if i don't win elle that the winner who gets him deserves him, so, so much! i had such a good time writing this and playing around with my forum formats and style, i'm somehow, absolutely blown away with how much i love pearlescentkit. i didn't know it at first, but this is the most i've ever loved a character in a litter before, and i'm glad of it. finding what sort of characters i truly like and using this specific character concept was a meaningful experience, even after several weeks of writer's block when doing applications.

. . . special thanks to lynn, for making this kickstarter litter. though there are only a few applications, all of them are absolutely stunning and blew my socks off, so i can see you might have a hard time deciding the winners. all of the litters you make blow me away and i'm absolutely delighted that i get the chance to both be in the itwrp team and apply for essie, even if it takes up alot of my screen time.
