Add some sort of block feature

I know this suggestion has been rejected but ST's excuses for it are really stupid, in my opinion. You can't just act like there isn't drama on this website. There is drama on everything single active studio, profile etc just because you refuse to do anything about it. Let's take Griffpatch's profile for example, there is always something going on there and barely anything actually is put in place to stop it. The report feature is absolutely useless as it barely does anything. I've literally seen trolls get upset with ST because they haven't been banned yet? You fix and update everything but the current issues of the website which makes me question whether we can consider this a place for children.
It's either you fix the report feature or let us block and ban people from studios. Even Roblox has one and they are a children's website too. They acknowledge that there are issues and try and end them.
Anyway, there isn't much I can really say other than please reconsider or at least give it another chance? I did voice my opinions on GWDFI, apologies if I was a bit too harsh but someone had to say something.

Yesss you made the post!! Anyhow, I absolutely agree. It's gotten to the point that I have to persuade my younger sister to not use a literal children's website. The report, mute and ban filter are broken and useless. As a website that unnecessarily bans people frequently, you would expect it to be at least safe.

Usually reporting doesn't do much. There was a time where people got temporarily banned for reporting.

It does do things. If they got banned for reporting they probably mass reported innocent projects knowingly

No, I was there, they reported very innapropriate comments and nothing innocent and were banned for it.

The feature is still very faulty. Like, if an innocent person reports someone doing something bad they can get banned for mass reporting. And it works the other way round, too. The bots barely work and the scratch team never checks to mute people themselves.

Any other examples of being banned for reporting?

You get cases of it happening a lot. I reported a lot of harmful comments on my old account, and I was muted for half an hour.

I got blocked for that reason too. That’s the exact reason I lost my main account.

Muting is the only bot scratch has. That also isn't what mass reporting is.

That's wrong. People get banned most of the time by persistent muting, caused unnecessarily most of the time by bots.

As someone who has seen/been a part of drama, yes there are loads of people. Anyway people getting banned for reporting isn't the main focus of this post.

Make an appeal before ban evading. This topic is getting completely unrelated and is also rejected, so I'm gonna leave it here

+1. They even blocked my main account just because I was reporting all the trolls on Griffpatches profile. They haven’t even wrote back yet and it’s been almost a week.

With a block feature, it's easy to get rid of people you don't want to see commenting, say if you are a young, impressionable child, Blocking could also help keep people safe by restricting chatting from a creepy person, or blocking projects that are too gorey / are just disturbing. When there's a block feature, 1 in 6 Americans tend to use it. According to both the App Store and Google Play Store rules, all social apps must provide a blocking option. (Social media today) And since this is a social platform, it is recommended to have a blocking feature or at least parental controls, since this is targeted at children.

A lot of the time it takes months for the scratch team to respond to appeals. I contacted the scratch team four months about an incredibly important issue that was affecting many mentally, and got no response.

Exactly! You know, there are a lot of creepy people here, I shall not go into specific cases as to not cause drama, so to make this a children friendly site we should be able to block people. I was “doxxed” on an old account (it was wrong, I'm safe) and the part of the description doxxing me was not removed upon reporting. The person kept contacting me which made me uncomfortable, so everything would be so much easier if I had a block button.
