About Me

・゚✧ Greetings?
Hello! I’m Socks and I go by she/her, I'm 16/17 years old, I love science and creating things . My favourite colours are red and blue, I love songs and musicals, and I’m currently rereading TBOSAS because I loved it so much.

・゚✧ Activity
I’m currently what I believe is appropriately active - in that I check scratch once a day. I went through a phase of checking multiple times a day every day for about a year, to nothing for several weeks at once, and now a healthy midpoint where I am able to accept bios, roleplay, and balance it with life outside of scratch. In terms of longevity - at a minimum I can guarantee he would live a year, but if I were to win Dewkit it is much more likely he would live until at least 100 moons as my first character Dustflurry did (and current Windclan character Nettlefate is going to do).

・゚✧ Past and Current Characters

I’ve had two “temporary” kittypet characters, the first Apricot in April 2021, and the second ‘Him’ at some point this year. Both characters were created for the purpose of being temporary, and lasted 1-4 months?

My first proper character Dustflurry I had from birth (won from a litter) until he was around 115 moons, from April 2021 to September 2023
My next serious character is Nettlefate, who I’ve had from birth (preclaimed) and still have him at 54 moons as of writing this, I’ve had him since September 2023.

・゚✧ Roleplay Experience
I have been role playing since January 2021 on scratch (two-three months away from four years), and TFCRP since April 2021. I’ve had experience role-playing off site for about five-six years

About Dewkit

・゚✧ Kit identity (name, gender, sexuality)
As I'm sure you've already determined from this application, the kitten would be named Beowulf, translating to ‘war wolf.’ It is the name of courageous fighter Beowulf, from an old English poem about a heroic German fighter. See more in ‘trivia.’
Beowulf would be cisgender AFAB, attracted to female and non-binary cats.

・゚✧ Personality
For ease of those skimming through applications (and aesthetic purposes) the personality traits will be written, however, it is important to note that understanding this version of Faoladh can not properly be done so without reading the detailed version, which even then is not quite fleshed out as Beowulfs personality would be, were I to receive the kit.

Beowulf is a high achieving cat, determined best result possible in every aspect of her life. She is driven by validation received from doing well in any sort of activity. She is a natural multitasker, and able to juggle many tasks at once and still achieve the best she could to a degree. Beowulf is a perfectionist and holds herself to higher standards than she is capable of achieving. Even the smallest mistake can make her doubt herself and push even harder to do better than everyone else. She also holds others close to her to high standards, not quite as unachievable as her own goals, but high enough to disappoint her when someone doesn't do as well in a task as she had hoped.

Linked with this, Beowulf is prone to jealousy when others are given more attention or do better than her. She will compete with others often, even if they are unaware of it, feeling pleased with herself only when she does better than those she is surrounded by. But when given advice or critisism Beowulf will become protective of her work or ideals, reacting when challenged even if she is disappointed in herself.

Beowulf is an extremely emotional individual, often overwhelmed by the amount of tasks she takes upon herself, or easily defeated by the results given (such as catching less prey than she wants to). Despite wanting to avoid conflict, she often finds herself in the middle of it, lashing out at those around her if jealousy or the too high standards she sets herself to ‘win’. Her high energy levels are one of the few reasons she is able to stop herself from becoming burnt out and unmotivated. This energy is how Beowulf still able to keep a social life while pushing herself to be academically better than everyone else.

In terms of social life, Beowulf is insightful. Before coming to RiverClan she knew only her mother, so she spends a long time studying faces and emotions, wanting to be better than everyone else at being social too. This has given her the advantage of being able to read others easily, unless of course they are hiding their emotions from her, Beowulf is not a mind reader. She can over-analyze others, believing someone is upset with her if they are frowning even slightly. As she believes she is destined to do well as a warrior, Beowulf comes to understand she needs to have positive relationships with others, as ‘friends’ not only make her happy, but also to gather a deeper understanding of how to interact with others ‘perfectly’.

Beowulf is very untrusting, rarely opening up to anyone except for a few who she has spent a long time building a relationship worthy of making herself ‘vulnerable’ in by sharing her feelings. She is guarded around others, and very private about personal matters. She is cautious of whom to truly trust, as a way to protect herself from the unknown repercussions she may have to face if talking to the wrong person. This doesn't mean she isn't happy to lend an ear to those who trust her, quite the opposite. Listening to others share their feelings won't make Beowulf want to share hers anymore, but may make her feel better about her problems and situations

If needing to vent, Beowulf will go somewhere quiet and make sure no one is around to let out her feelings of frustration, anger, sadness, etc. If these feelings are bottled up for too long, she will ‘explode,’ taking out her feelings on whoever was unfortunate enough to be near or step over the line, pushing her that little step further. Immediately after the cat would be smothered with apologies, and Beowulf would once again step away and try to suppress the emotions she deems unsuitable for her future goals.

When coming to doing tasks, Beowulf is practical and creative, trying to see the problem or task from all angles, trying to remain in a “think outside the box” mindset. Waiting for others to figure it out is a different perspective, as Beowulf is very impatient. She is partially impatient with herself, getting extremely annoyed if she is unable to get things in the first few tries, but it is more-so directed at those less fast-paced than her.

Lastly, Beowulf is principled, unafraid to stick up for something she strongly beliefs in, her ideals of right and wrong, her moral compass. She wants to be trusted and respected by those around her and has high respect for those who stick to their own beliefs, even if they differ from hers. This isn't to say she doesn't judge others, as Beowulf most certainly does. Whether it’s their morals, personalities, work ethic, or just general behaviors' that she may find annoying, she is quick to judge others. Beowulf will not hold this against the cat and will still give them a chance to ‘prove themselves,’ whether they realize they are being tested in a sorts, or not.

Final Notes
Hihi thank you for reading all of this! First, I am so sorry it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing, I tried to make it as easy to access as possible and easy to skip to certain sections, but in doing so it lost the good-lookingness :,] Good luck to fellow applicants !
