--- Settlers of Inland: Age of Treason --- (HIRING artists)
History
-Settlers of Inland began in 2013 as a small project but turned into a large collaboration that was featured on the front page of Scratch. After the collab departed once the game was complete, the team got together almost a year later for Settlers of Inland:Asian Expansion, which was also on the front page of Scratch. Now a year after again the collab is rejoining for another project!
Background
Five exiles are sailing in the Indian Ocean only to be raided by pirates. The ship sinks and only one individual makes it out alive, awaking at a beach. It is up to this individual to start a society, a civilization on this island and to fend off the pirates attacking. It is up to you to maintain all control of the civilization, including economy and military.

Changed. Yes! I'd like to join but you probably already knew that
Also, maybe change it to Wild Settlements though perhaps to avoid some sexism.
So here's what I am thinking:
-scrolling
-actual sailing to other islands (you direct the boats and settlers can become passengers on boats)
-soldiers, and fighting against pirates who attack you every so often
-stone as a new resource, making food, coin, water, gold, and stone
-settlers need fed every so often, otherwise they die
-pathfinding (check out http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/40979446/ )
Every structure will actually server a purpose and do something. I was thinking we could choose what country we want to be and our buildings will relate to our country. We could have China as one of the options and take the structures right out of Asian Expansion.
Island climate should very so it'll be random, either grass, snow, or arid.

Yes! With climate with could introduce heatstroke and hypothermia (maybe mosquitos and malaria for temperate/arid climates?)Changed. Yes! I'd like to join but you probably already knew that

Water would prevent the heat stroke so water would need given to the settlers every so often. Wood for fire could heat them in the winter.Yes! Over the course of a year I've gained a better understanding of AIs and pathfinding so with the combination of those two things it's not too hard. Anyways, we will need an intro video as always. Unless someone else wants to make it I'll take a shot at it. It's going to be hard to program the pirates but worth it I suspect.

I actually got his permission about a year ago, so I'll assume it still applies now. He worked on the other Age of Empires games, I think the second games has the best soundtrack, what do you think of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jadxTFqyhRM:O Wow (though we probably could have used the music anyway) Also, good news! I got actual permission fro Stephen Rippey, artist for Age of Empires III to use his music.
And I like that idea ^^
And you wouldn't believe how easy it was to get in contact with Microsoft's head sound guy.

Yeah, that's a professional soundtrack alright (seriously its really good). I'll have to set time aside when it's not so late to listen to the full thing. And you're right I can hardly believe you managed to contact him nevermind that it was easy.I actually got his permission about a year ago, so I'll assume it still applies now. Got an email back after about 30 minutes. “Yeah I'm perfectly fine if you use my music”

Here's a project I was working on a week ago: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/41628474/
Funny you brought this up Centrifugal because it actually related a lot to what we need. It already has the music in it so I'm going to build upon it and change it into SOI:AOT
