I was actually thinking we'd need a color that provides enough contrast between the highlighter and the text. It would be more important for someone to distinguish the text rather than the highlighter. For this reason, I don't think purple would be the right choice (unless it was like some really light purple). I feel like yellow would work just fine. A light cyan could also work, as well as a light orange, perhaps.
