can you make a horror game if you add a warning at the begining
I want to make a horror game, however, don't know if I'm aloud to, so I'm wondering if I can make a horror game if it has a warning at the start

Warnings will not influence the Scratch Team's decision to take down a project. Just don't make a horror game, if you do decide to make one, no jumpscares, intense topics, disrespectful langauge, or violence.

warnings do nothing, so it can still be removed even with a warning. No jump scares, gore, realistic weapons, scary images, etc.

Warnings will not influence the Scratch Team's decision to take down a project. Just don't make a horror game, if you do decide to make one, no jumpscares, intense topics, disrespectful langauge, or violence. The maximum is Beetlejuice or Hocus Pocus.
Both of those movies have some inappropriate content.

i dont think having a warning matters as long as it fits scratch's guidelines! I want to make a horror game, however, don't know if I'm aloud to, so I'm wondering if I can make a horror game if it has a warning at the start

thank you, I don't plan on having gore, I only use gore in projects I don't care that much about lol, I also don't plan on having that kind of langauge, and really, the game's “jumpscares” would just be loud sound with evil scratch cat image then game over screen, and the “scary” images would just be scary if you think scratch cat but dark with realistic-ish eyes is scary, I'm not trying to make the next big horror game that keeps people up at night, I would use godot or unity for that, lol it's just your run of the mill “youtuber play spooky game” type horror game Warnings will not influence the Scratch Team's decision to take down a project. Just don't make a horror game, if you do decide to make one, no jumpscares, intense topics, disrespectful langauge, or violence.

You can't put a warning as it's against the TOS. The reason is that there's nothing stopping kids from bypassing it. I want to make a horror game, however, don't know if I'm aloud to, so I'm wondering if I can make a horror game if it has a warning at the start

Adding on: People may argue “It’s the kid’s fault for ignoring the warning!” But that’s simply not fair, because kids are… kids, and they will be curious and it’s Scratch’s duty to make sure their rules are good enough to prevent this stuff. You can't put a warning as it's against the TOS. Projects with anything that breaks the Community Guildlines are not aloud, even with warnings it‘s still against the rules. If your unsure these are the guidelines, https://resources.scratch.mit.edu/www/posters-printables/en/ScratchCommunityGuidelinesPoster18x24.pdf
You can still make awesome projects but without horror.
I wonder what you will create.

You shouldn’t use gore in any of your projects, even if you don’t care about them.thank you, I don't plan on having gore, I only use gore in projects I don't care that much about lol, I also don't plan on having that kind of langauge, and really, the game's “jumpscares” would just be loud sound with evil scratch cat image then game over screen, and the “scary” images would just be scary if you think scratch cat but dark with realistic-ish eyes is scary, I'm not trying to make the next big horror game that keeps people up at night, I would use godot or unity for that, lol it's just your run of the mill “youtuber play spooky game” type horror game Warnings will not influence the Scratch Team's decision to take down a project. https://resources.scratch.mit.edu/www/posters-printables/en/ScratchCommunityGuidelinesPoster18x24.pdfWhy would you link to some obscure .pdf file that I have never seen until now and now the much more known Projects with anything that breaks the Community Guildlines are not aloud, even with warnings it‘s still against the rules. If your unsure these are the guidelines, page on the main site?

Content warnings aren't allowed, on the grounds that anything that needs them shouldn't be on Scratch anyways

People say this, as if epilepsy warnings and such aren’t allowed too. Content warnings aren't allowed, on the grounds that anything that needs them shouldn't be on Scratch anyways
(source: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/168506/ )
A better phrasing would be; “Content warnings for things that you think would break guidelines also break guidelines, it doesn’t change anything.”

That jumpscare doesn't sound allowed. You have to consider that many Scratchers are extremely young and you cannot expect them to handle jumpscares the same way someone of older age might.thank you, I don't plan on having gore, I only use gore in projects I don't care that much about lol, I also don't plan on having that kind of langauge, and really, the game's “jumpscares” would just be loud sound with evil scratch cat image then game over screen, and the “scary” images would just be scary if you think scratch cat but dark with realistic-ish eyes is scary, I'm not trying to make the next big horror game that keeps people up at night, I would use godot or unity for that, lol it's just your run of the mill “youtuber play spooky game” type horror game Warnings will not influence the Scratch Team's decision to take down a project. This is only partly true. You can put a warning, it just wouldn't affect moderation action. The ST won't take your project down just because you put a warning. You can't put a warning as it's against the TOS. The reason is that there's nothing stopping kids from bypassing it. I want to make a horror game, however, don't know if I'm aloud to, so I'm wondering if I can make a horror game if it has a warning at the start
