So I accidently pressed the Context button on my Keyboard

So there is a Option that says “Show Redraw Regions” that causes Red Squares to appear on the screen.
What are these for?

No I don't make projects anymore. I left some time ago.
I only check the forums every now and then, but other than that consider me retired.

On scratch? I think it's a dev tool to optimize the amount of drawing flash does. Do you have any dev tools installed?

It's a Flash player thing, it shows where objects are redrawn. Don't bother with it, it doesn't impact anything.

Well, the equivalent in Scratch 3.0 might be Chrome devtools' “Paint flashing” checkbox. Press escape to bring up a panel with tools; under “Rendering,” there's a checkbox labelled “Paint flashing.”

It shows the parts of the editor/website that get repainted; limiting repaints help with performance
