1. They never said they would fix it on the 14th. They just said they would be doing maintenance.

2. What makes you think we would know? We aren't all ST members.

Actually, on the 14th, they said they were doing server maintenance. According to @cheddargirl*, it was just routine server maintenance that they try to do every once in a while- nothing special. Server issues caused them to cancel it in favor of keeping the servers working in some capacity, and doing more critical updates to them. They also got some more help around this time from some interns, which is a good thing (many hands make light(er) work).
