Pause/Continue Sound Block
I realized this wasn't already a thing, then thought, “Why isn't this a thing?”
Sounds in Scratch are currently kind of limited. You can have background music, but working with changing it is a little cumbersome; sound effects are implemented a lot, but beyond that there's not much you can do except if you use the Scratch-implemented sounds (which are limited in and of themselves.)
Being able to pause sounds (such as songs) would lead directly to better music-based projects, buy beyond that I could see uses in longer sound effects that might want to be cut off - such as the applause from an audience that you might want to use and stop at different lengths for different situations.
Additionally, this would not at all be hard to understand
*Note that I use continue in lieu of play, because play sound is already in use. The whole system could be made better, but this is my present suggestion.*
Edit: Yeah, yeah this is a duplicate post. Oops. I basically never use the forums so I forgot to search. Same idea here: http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/74670/
Sorry

We need that suggestion to become true, I agree. I realized this wasn't already a thing, then thought, “Why isn't this a thing?”

It doesn't matter in the Suggestions forum unless that feature is now in Scratch.http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/74670/Edit: Yeah, yeah this is a duplicate post. Oops. I basically never use the forums so I forgot to search. Same idea here:
