Removing the background of sprites?

Hi! i love the scratch costume editor, but i would like to know if there is a way to export the sprite without the checkered background? - i do not use scratch as a game engine anymore but i just cannot get over this editor!!

Removing the background of sprites?

If you export the costume the normal way, does it display the checkered background? (Right-click on the specific costume in the list of costumes off to the left, then click “export”, or something like that.) For some reason I never thought doing this would include the checkered background.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

It shouldn't, but it does download as a .svg, which some image viewers might automatically put the checkered background on. If you want it as a .png or .jpg for example you can use CloudConvert to convert it into that format. (It only downloads as a .svg if you used the vector editor)
