Why does my cloud variable reset when I reload?

I need a saving system for a leaderboard engine I am making. When I test it in split screen everything is working fine, both sides are updating the variable and saving it even after I click the green flag multiple times. But once I reload the page the cloud variables just set to nothing. I searched my code, but could not find anything. I have good internet and are logged in. Please help.

Cloud Variables are currently broken, the Scratch Team is working to fix this.

Try renaming the cloud variable. That often fixes problems with them.

Not sure, but I remember trying that for a newer project, and it did not fix.

Scratch variables can often glitch and be unreliable and sometimes they fix themselves sometimes they just refuse to work properly im not quite sure and still havent really found a reliable way to stop them from glitching and breaking
I guess you could try to make new ones copy the project or as other people said to rename them

I recently made a project to try and optimize scratch cloud variables and for them to store more info and it worked but i also have quite a few projects that are broken
