and if they do April 1 is in the middle of MOST schools spring break.

Which means there's no problem if they get distracted.
April Fools is one of the major celebrations on Scratch
so a week could make it extra special. Once a year or not
it makes the whole of Scratch to have some fun!!!

Not sure if you can claim that for “most schools.” Currently my Spring Break was the last week of February. 4 years ago my Spring Break was the first week of March. But these were colleges, so maybe things were different, but even still, back in grade school my Spring Break would always be in the middle of March (and did not include April 1st). I realize that I can't use this to claim that most schools don't have Spring Break on April 1st, but it is enough for me to doubt the claim that they do.

In particular, we get no days off for Easter in college in the US. At least not in the colleges I've been to. If those don't count, my grade school only had Good Friday off of school (and not the following Monday), if I remember correctly. Even still, I'm assuming the OP's suggestion is not for this year only, so there shouldn't be much discussion here about Easter conflicting with things.

What April Fools' Day site changes? Scratch didn't add in the time travel easter egg or cat blocks, just that one semicolon, which, let's be honest, is likely incredibly easy to add and is hardly interesting

I don't support, because all they have is a studio. I could say support because the studio isn't distracting due to the ability of NOT GOING ON THE STUDIO! But, all you have to do is change the date to Apr 1 in order to get the semicolon. IDK. This year just feels, sad.
