The video extension is pretty cool but for some reason, it displays your video in the thumbnail if you have your video on which can lead to a bunch of children getting their faces leaked without them knowing. Maybe as an alternative by replacing the video with a fake image in the thumbnail to keep them anonymous but that may confuse scratchers.

yeah, Support, I believe this is a huge problem.

That was my first suggestion for the issue, I said as an possible alternative to disabling the extension.

A potential issue is i believe Scratch saves the thumbnail as a bitmap image, so they would need to hide it before saving the image.

This is pretty obviously needed, and im pretty sure any sane person would say this too.

Support. This would really help when making a thumbnail for a Project that uses the video extension so that users don't accidentally set the project's thumbnail as a screenshot of their face from the video extension

Makes sense, maybe they could make it so that when saving a project, if the webcam is currently on, it would instead save the thumbnail as the default scratch cat thumbnail, or not change the thumbnail from the previous

I mean you can already pretty much post an bypass images in the thumbnail but people could reveal their face by mistake
also this post counts as a bump

bump, I hope this gets added. There a couple examples for example some remixes where the orginal project is a camera based project.
(Don't post any images showing examples of this or make sure to censor their face and project name and username)
