Instead of appealing from just contact us, allow a link to appeals@scratch.mit.edu be shown in contact us
Basically what I asked in the title. When a user needs to appeal for a ban for example, they have two options to appeal from contact us only.
GitHub repo: https://github.com/scratchfoundation/scratch-www/issues/7949
This will definitely need to be implemented because users reply from Contact Us and rely on the messages more, but never really receive a response after a month or so.
Can't provide a mock-up, so I don't know how to implement this
- They can contact ST from the Contact Us form by explaining what they did and more additional information (already in place)
- They can contact ST by email via appeals@scratch.mit.edu to appeal from their email and service provider website.

Support! This also might be easy to implement as Contact Us is a scratch-www page.

There isn't even a topic for appealing only “Questions about admin noifcations/blocked account” so you aren't even supposed to appeal there.

(#12)Okay. But still, it's a good idea to add the link for @appeals.scratch.mit.edu to there anyway as an additional help link.

(#10)And you're also wrong. There is an option in Contact Us for “Questions about admin noifcations/blocked account” and I also think there's an open topic that could be made for that (unless it hasn't been suggested already.)

Basically what I asked in the title. When a user needs to appeal for a ban for example, they have two options to appeal from contact us only.
The way the title and this post is stated implies that a banned user has to go through “Contact Us”, which is actually not the best way to handle an appeal - a banned user can (and should) use the appeal form provided* when logging into the blocked account, and that directly submits the appeal into the appropriate appeals e-mail inbox along with providing additional info/tools for mods that helps to expedite the appeals process.
*If the appeal form is nonexistent when logging in then it means the account is not eligible for appeal or doesn't require one (e.g. temp bans that self-expire), at which point e-mailing appeals directly or via “Contact Us” won't really do anything. I can see cases of where wanting to know and use direct e-mail might be warranted, but it should be important to recognize that it's not going to resolve blocks any better than the current appeal methods in place.

(#13)Good point. But however, this could help some users and I am aware that “Contact Us” is not the best and greatest solution to bans, but I wanted to discuss this because I thought about it and got the idea from someone else originally, and I wanted users to be more aware to use appeals instead of contact us..Basically what I asked in the title. Between via “Contact Us” vs direct e-mail, “Contact Us” is the better of the two because it has some form fields that also help to expedite the appeals process (though not as well as when appealing via logging into the account, especially when users fail to provide their exact username or email currently assigned to the blocked account from the start, then too much time is spent on trying to find the blocked account the user is appealing for). With the way the internal.appeal inbox is set up, the direct email shoukd only really be used in more severe/oddball cases (such as IP block and those appeal cases requiring a parent/legal guardian, teacher, or other trusted adult); normal appeals submitted directly risk getting marked as spam/low-level. In other words, if the direct appeals email address is more publicly visible, it should be made clear it's the least preferable method for normal appeals.(#13)Good point. Because what I'm suggesting is that the link should be more visible on the right for those who need to via contact you and the rest of the Scratch Team for help or more severe cases of blocks or bans, or maybe even IP bans. I am also aware that more users will see the link more visibly and more publicly if this is going to be a thing. I understand that there will be some problems if users that are malicious and never been to the website will try and abuse it somehow, but maybe not.

Not sure what you mean here, please clarify.Between via “Contact Us” vs direct e-mail, “Contact Us” is the better of the two because it has some form fields that also help to expedite the appeals process (though not as well as when appealing via logging into the account, especially when users fail to provide their exact username or email currently assigned to the blocked account from the start, then too much time is spent on trying to find the blocked account the user is appealing for). Not sure what you mean here, please clarify.I mean that Contact Us and Appeals are two different things, and I meant to ask if they are related or are somewhat similar to each other.

I understand and know about the case email, so that's already something in place.
