It just seems like a silly thing to have, being as how it doesn't matter.

And it would rather lighten server load.

Precisely. I got banned one time because my brother's cell phone sat on the f5 key and refreshed a post I was on hundreds of thousands of times over night when I went to sleep. I guess it sort of worked as a ddos attack. The website was offline the following morning and it took the entire day to get it back online. So I'm guessing if this site was ever overly active, maybe couple thousand people online all browsing the forums, things would get at least a little hairy with the view counters.

You don't. You can just make a post saying that you support this idea.

(If that's what you meant.)

It would be taking out a part of the Scratch website. How is that hard?

Is that possible to edit without setting it up again?

If not, copy and paste the code without the view count…

I kept refreshing my pacific rim topic trying to get the first reply and I gave it 28 views.

I admit, I use a custom VBS script made by me for the specific purpose of F5 spamming hundreds or thousands of times.

Anyways, I totally support. I really think views are a waste, because it's so easy to increase them. They serve no purpose either, except maybe to tell how new a topic is.

Why not just have an option to turn it off? I actually like that it shows the # of posts.
