Not allowing new scratchers to comment.
I know the title sounds kinda.. mean but I don't have anything against new scratchers. It's that some people make new scratch accounts just to spam and hate on random people. You can delete these comments sure but the emotional damage doesn't go away. Imagine an eight year olds face when they have a hate comment calling them stupid or something when they haven't even done anything. They would feel like they are horrible to have to have a random person being mean to them, this could effect their self-esteem, mental health etc. If new scratchers aren't allowed to comment then we know that by the time they are scratchers they are there for the website, not to hate on people.
Edit: I meant report not delete. reporting also deletes them so I got confused.

Not allowing new scratchers to comment.
This'll confuse new users if they wanna know how on earth to become a scratcher
Anyways, this suggestion is not gonna end up well. I mean, that'd require an edit of a lotta garbage.
If you outright forbid commenting for New Scratchers, it might confuse them.
Sure, new scratchers are more often troublemakers than Scratchers are, but that ain't the point.
No matter what, it'll confuse people, and the forums might just have a few billion off-topic chat topics afterwards.
I am not really good at explaining and I don't have any other points, so that ends my thoughts.
(#1)Deleting helps nobody, exact reason why blocking was rejected. The report option exists for a reason, and so does the first part of the guidelines.

Treat everyone with respect.
Scratchers have diverse backgrounds, interests, identities, and experiences. Everyone on Scratch is encouraged to share things that excite them and are important to them—we hope that you find ways to celebrate your own identity on Scratch, and allow others to do the same. It’s never OK to attack a person or group’s identity or to be unkind to someone about their background or interests.

This is assuming that EVERY new scratcher is a spammer. When I started scratch in some 2009, I genuinely wanted to learn how to code. Metal sharpens Metal, so feedback is to New Scratchers.

(#3)Did you mean to quote the OP? I was not saying or referencing the thought of “every new scratcher is a spammer”, but I guess I should've also said “no support” to make that clearer.

(removed - accidental quote tag LOL)

I mean, I've seen New Scratchers that can give some really helpful feedback, as well as sending motivating comments, creating friendly conversations, and so forth.
Restricting New Scratchers from using the comments because of some bad apples isn't really the way to go — you're talking about a pretty convenient feature here.
How so? Pretty sure all they'd have to do is provide information on how to become one.

but they literally cant
and as aforementioned in the rest of the post, for example a lot of things would need a change:

there's a point of commenting for new scratchers - helps them engage with the community. it would be a terrible idea to remove it cuz then new scratchers that have just turned into scratchers would not know how to engage(#8)Not always.
Sometimes change is good.
Then again not allowing them to comment feels overblow.
Maybe just a wait 10 minutes before you can comment, but even then this still feels insanely futile.

(#10)I should've said superfluous instead of futile, but either way I'm not saying I like the suggestion.

Well we need a way to stop new scratchers from just spaming hate and emotionally scarring children. Any ideas?

It's really easy to become a Scratcher as is, people can still emotionally scar children (albeit not as much as any other site) Well we need a way to stop new scratchers from just spaming hate and emotionally scarring children.

It's more likely to be new scratchers though. Most spammers and bullies are too impatient to become a scratcher. It's really easy to become a Scratcher as is, people can still emotionally scar children (albeit not as much as any other site) Well we need a way to stop new scratchers from just spaming hate and emotionally scarring children.

Then they'd just wait till after they become a scratcher.
