As one thing - I just remembered this, but the unused debug sprite of frisk in UT was at one point going to be frisk. Comparing the two designs between Kris and this old frisk variation, you get a perfect match in terms of the clothing.

As one thing - I just remembered this, but the unused debug sprite of frisk in UT was at one point going to be frisk. Comparing the two designs between Kris and this old frisk variation, you get a perfect match in terms of the clothing.actually, Kris' outfit matches Chara's. the debug sprite has the wrong coloured bottoms, their shirt colour is inverted and they have an extra stripe (when compared to Kris).
in that way it makes sense for Kris to be this universe's version of Chara (a child adopted by the Dreemurrs), the same way people theorise Susie to be Deltarune's version of Suzy (if you don't know who she is that makes sense - there's a fun event in Undertale where a Clam Girl will appear, and she mentions her neighbour's daughter, Suzy)
