Remixing your own projects

I think when you click “See Inside” on one of your own projects, it should ask you whether you want to make changes to it or remix it. If you choose remix, then it should respond as if you clicked See inside on someone elses project. This way, you could create sequals to yor projects more easily.

Well, not really. It'll just say “copy.” It won't be a remix with the “Based on (project)” thingy under the notes.

open it with an alt account, switch to your main account, click remix and your main account remixed your main accounts project! I did this with a test account (pi calculator, i remixed it from my test account to my test account)

Well, that's the closest thing as its essentially the same thing without giving credit to yourself…

That removes the “remixed by” message.

Remixing your own projects

EDIT: Im sorry, i tried the other day. It doesn't work anymore. Scratch must of patched it. Cause not it will way "You have to be *your user* to save this project. You can try but i dout it will work

This happend to me twice and i wasnt planing to do it!
THIS WORKS BETTER WHEN YOUR PROJECT IS NOT SHARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Step1: get the project you want to ‘remix’ and click see inside
Step2: Open up another tab with scratch so you have two tabs with scratch
Step3: With the new tab, log out and log into a different acount (if you dont have more than 1 account it might work just when your logged out)
Step4: do a bit of stuff like veiw projects or that
Step5: go back to your tab with your project, do something like ad a bit of code and then (you will see that your now logged out) and click log in and log in
Step6: it should say ‘remixing’
Now you will have 2 copys of that project and one will say ‘remixed by’!!
but this does not always work!

EDIT:
better version, gotten from wiki page:
“There is a bug that allows you to remix your own project. First log into another account (such as a test account). Open a new tab and see inside one of your main account's projects. Then in the first tab switch back to your main account. On the second tab click ”remix“. This will not only give you a copy of your project, but also make it show up in the remix tree.”

Awesome, your one works when logged out, @gecko998! You don't even have to bother with doing other things, just copy the link to your project so you can find it, log out, go back to your project, look inside and remix. You'll need to log in but you can do it with the account that made the project. Thanks!

Thank you! It always happens ends to me. It also works if you have two computers, and on the other 1 you log into your account, do the same as in my steps and it remixes. I have like 10 projects with i have remixed by me by accident!

Support! I often want to make a slight deviation from one of my main projects in order to explain/implement a different feature that is not necessary for the original.

The options are:
new
save now
save as a copy
go to my stuff
upload from your computer
download to your computer
revert.

would save as a copy be close enough?

As I said, support for the new remix, but I think it shouldn't ask you every time you re-open it, it should just have a button next to Save Now that says remix.
