Question about removed project and community guidelines
Dear Scratch team, I have a request for you. Today you removed my project Five Night's at Fredbear's 2, supposedly for jumpscares, but the Scratch Community Guidelines didn't say anything about jumpscares so I didn't know it was forbidden. Is there anything I can do to get my project back? For example, if you are bothered by jumpscares I could add that a warning is triggered immediately after the game starts and then the user can choose if they want jumpscares as well. I could also add something where the player types in the year they were born and it automatically calculates if they are over 12 and can play the game. And I'm really sorry about the jumpscares but I really didn't know they were banned. If there was no other way, I would remove the jumpscares. I would be terribly grateful if you would allow me to share it again, after all I have been working on it for 4 months.

Question about removed project and community guidelines
You can't post a project with jumpscares and horror, no matter if it has a option to turn it on/off or some age verification (as any kid would just lie their age and turn jumpscares on). Scratch is supposed for ALL ages, kids included, you can't limit projects.
You could make it friendlier for kids or post it somewhere else (but don't link it on Scratch).

Question about removed project and community guidelines
Does the Scratch Team have to mention everything possible that could be used to break the rules? Jumpscares are included already since they generalized everything in the Community Guidelines:
Help keep the site friendly.Jumpscares are obviously not for all ages.
It’s important to keep your creations and conversations friendly and appropriate for all ages. If you think something on Scratch is mean, insulting, too violent, or otherwise disruptive to the community, click “Report” to let us know about it. Please use the “Report” button rather than engaging in fights, spreading rumors about other people’s behavior, or otherwise responding to any inappropriate content. The Scratch Team will look at your report and take the appropriate action.

Question about removed project and community guidelines
Does the Scratch Team have to mention everything possible that could be used to break the rules ? Jumpscares are included already since they generalized everything in the Community Guidelines:Adding on, the majority of these games are 12+ and Scratch is designed for 8-16 year old children. Also, the terms of use apply here. For example, spam is not stated in the community guidelines, but it can still get you banned. Plus, I am pretty sure FNAF related projects don't show up when you search for them for this reason, even if they don't do anything banned. So basically, horror games are inappropriate for Scratch.Help keep the site friendly.Jumpscares are obviously not for all ages.

Question about removed project and community guidelines
extreme jumpscares aren’t allowed even with warningsTechnically though couldn’t the image (example below) flashing on screen in a memey fashion, be considered a jumpscare? The image flashes on screen then disappears
guess what
there are lil children here

Edit: DAYUM THATS REALLY BIG SORRY BOUT THAT

Question about removed project and community guidelines
FNaF was banned for plenty reasons
also warnings do not change anything
also warnings do not change anything
Can I put a disclaimer on my Scratch project to warn people it's not for all ages?
Everything shared in our community should be appropriate for all ages. Any content that requires a disclaimer or warning isn't aligned with this philosophy and would not be suitable for Scratch. If a warning is needed, it is probably not appropriate for Scratch.

This essay can explain why franchises like FNAF can get banned. I highly suggest that you read it, so you don't have any situations like this in the future.

Question about removed project and community guidelines
I feel like the removal of Five Night's at Fredbear's 2 was unjustified as there was a warning at the star of the game of jumpscares but if little kids dont want jumpscares then they should click off bc yk Fnaf is a horror genre and people should be allowed to make horror games and express their talent.
but with the option to remove the jumpscares, that problem would be fixed. also the jumpscares were not very extreme.

As everyone already said before, they aren't allowed whether it has a warning or not.

(#10)Scratch is made for All Ages, however Five Nights at Freddy's is rated 12+.

Due to this, and the fact that the story is unmentionable, if it was permitted onward: Scratch could an unwinnable lawsuit.
Restricting will not change anything, which is why Scratch is doing everything within it's power to stay for All Ages.
And also, “extreme” is subjective. As a 9 year old, I didn't find any jumpscare as unsettling whatsoever. It doesn't matter as jumpscares are really not even for All Ages;

Question about removed project and community guidelines
Jumpscares aren't allowed on Scratch, nor are age restrictions (because they impose false restrictions on other scratchers). Addiitonally, Warnings are not an excuse for guidelines violations, the ST will still remove a project if it has a warning.
If you'd like to have a scratch project with jumpscares, share it outside of scratch. If you'd like to reshare it on the scratch website, tone down the horror and remove the jumpscares.
Additionally, if you'd like to put a signature on your posts, there is a “change your signature” button on the scratch homepage taht you can use to make on instead of manually adding one on every single post of yours.

Question about removed project and community guidelines
This is dumb. so what if kids use scratch, people over the age of 8 and who like horror games, we bring something to your website that nobody else does with horror, if your so heated about horror games being to scary for kids, theres a completely different app for that, called SCRATCH KIDS.

Question about removed project and community guidelines
I know lots of FNaF fan games on scratch that are lot of scarier than my games and they haven't been removed. I think it'd be a lot for Scratch Team easier to make a age limitations than ban all those FNaF fan games forever. But I guess the Scratch team is bored and has nothing to do, so they delete some of the games the developer spent a lot of time on. I think age limitation could be the solution of all these stupid things around banning FNaF games.

Apparently putting limitations is against TOS, for what reason I don't know. Scratch Kids is made for kids, let us older kids have our fun and let the little kids have theirs.
