Support for .svg files as profile pictures
When you export a costume from the Scratch editor, it gets saved as an SVG file. However, you get an error when attempting to use that SVG file in your profile picture. This is a problem, since many people, including me, use the Scratch editor to make their profile pictures. SVGs and PNGs are both images, so why only allow one?

Support, having to convert to png lowers the resolution and makes it take longer.

Support because I don't want people to be forced to only use raster images for Scratch pfps.

Support! Because of the fact that Scratch uses svg files for a lot of other things, why can't it be supported for PFPs?

Yup, support too
If the website is really unhappy with SVGs as PFPs, just automatically convert them to a PNG with the recomended dimensions, so we don't have to do it manually.
But, at best, it would be great to have vectors graphics accepted as PFPs !
We could even extend this improvement to project and studio thumbnails… ( idk if I have to mention this in another thread, so I'm telling this here )

300% support. This would allow everyone to have infinite resolution profile pictures using way less storage.

Support, though I think Scratch's CDN2 system only supports pngs
(its the thing used for images on scratch)

Support, I use SVG files a ton in multiple things, and it would be nice to have the ability to see and set profile pictures that looked fine at any scale. I think a lot of people who have super simple profile pictures to the point they somewhat already look like SVG files would support this as well.

Support.
This would reduce time (as in making render time way faster and more efficient).

I'm pretty sure this is a duplicate, I just can't find it.

I support this. Profile pictures would no longer look weird at different sizes, and it could possibly reduce the size of the image. If I remember correctly, .svg files are saved using the points, whereas .png and .jpg files are saved according to the pixels.

I remember there was the webp method to get high quality images
but it didn’t really seem to be high quality for me (yes I tried)
so yeah, why not
with this suggestion, you don’t have to use sites that you may not trust
and instead, you can just upload a random img and boom
