(#81)they can announce it on their profile. announcing it here clogs up ATs with projects that can't even be used yet

And if I did it, is it a motive of reporting?
I`m worried.

(#85)Your post may be reported to be closed - but on the forums, a report isn't always a bad thing. You wouldn't get any action taken against your account just because you're not following this.

Announcing an exciting project is like showing people a futuristic car.
Just to learn that it's a concept study.

TBF Announcing an exciting project is like showing people a futuristic car.prototypes are allowed, just not announcing a project before it's ready

I don`t see any reason of why, but also I don`t see any good reason of why the scratchers want to be famous. Come on! Scratch is for programming, it`s for trying to be good at programming, or as hobbie, not to be famous nor the number one. That`s why I think that spamming and adding games isn`t nice and unnecessary.(#81)Why?

wahWouldn't that lead to off-topic/spam posts? How about posting links to the make the thing before announcing it memes?

(#88)Prototypes are fine. Concept study futuristic cars are totally foolish moves by car companies. Why show us a good looking car, if you can't buy it. Same applies to pre-announcing projects to which the developer has no intention to actually make the project.TBF Announcing an exciting project is like showing people a futuristic car.prototypes are allowed, just not announcing a project before it's ready

The Phi mod that has been running in the forums lately, can we shut that down too?

No, as Stephan never said “Yeah, Phi is definitely in development” The Phi mod that has been running in the forums lately, can we shut that down too?

I think this is fine in general. It's not a bad idea to crowdsource devs to improve your project. Does looking for devs count
What's not fine is asking devs to start a new project. To say "I want to make this, it will have these things, please contribute so it's done"; note the keywords underlined. This happens more often than I'd like, and to me this would not make a successful project. Why ask people to work for something that doesn't even exist?
The point of this topic is to encourage Scratchers to present at least something about their project. Best case scenario, you get a working product/prototype that others can contribute on. Worst case scenario, you get some vague mission statement, if one even exists at all. Whether you intend to do the project yourself or with others, if you can't show something, then better don't show it. You should work on it first until you can show the project, and then make a topic about it. That's the gist of this topic.

If you haven't actually made anything, adding “looking for devs” to your topic doesn't change that fact. Does looking for devs count
Bad:
Good: I'm making a mod that adds cloud lists but i need devs. Can anyone help?
I made a mod that adds cloud lists, you can try it here: <link>. If you want to help contribute, make a post with your github username and what you want to work on!
The main difference is that in the second one, something useful/significant has already been made*, and the author isn't expecting someone else to do all the work for them, they are just saying that they accept contributions.
these examples are not based on any actual post. any similarity is coincidental, i'm not trying to attack anyone with them.
*forking scratch and changing the theme/logo doesn't count as a useful/significant change.

I mean, it's still nice to make trailers, teasers, and demos for your upcoming projects. You probably don't have a definite release date, but you could at least show a piece of the future project. Even if people don't really check them out, it's still fun to build up hype! Plus, it's nice practice for if you work for a company and you can only share sneak peaks of upcoming projects for now.

Yeah, it is. Also, what is the bad thing of anouncing projects before you realase them? I still don`t get it at all.
