Scratch files not opening

My son coded a bunch of scratch games. He hasn't touched them in 6 months/1 year and now when he tries to open them they go to the generic start page (orange cat on white background). The files all still have the titles that he named them, so it seems like the data is there somewhere. Is this a known problem and is there a way to ‘save’ his old work?

Thanks!

Are they in files on your computer or on the my stuff page of the Scratch website?

If you're using the offline editor, the app will always open up to the default project and you have to click file>load from your computer and then select the file you want.

And you could try right clicking on the file and selecting “open”, it should open it in the editor if you have it installed.
