I think that scratch did do the right thing, exept it took me 1 year and 4 months to get scratcher status, and I had 35 projects shared, I visited the forums whenever there was an update, I only posted good things and loved and favourited lots of projects. So maybe scratch lower the amounts.

Ticks me off because I've been using the software for years, and just never got around to making a Scratch accountd, so when I do I get restrictions placed on my account??????

Hmm, I actually didn't notice any restrictions, but, I guess I don't see a reason to do any of these things you listed couldn't happen, or maybe just not when I was a new scratcher.
