HOW TO DO THIS:
1. Get a 2.0 install or get the SWF here:
https://github.com/scratchfoundation/scratch-flash
2. Get flash here:
https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/32/flashplayer_32_sa.exe
3. Search for a file named Scratch.swf then run it using the player.
4. enjoy

I mean, it would be nice to show downloads for flash for other operating systems, and the assets library thing was a known thing.

There's a way to get around that though, just install an old version that doesn't have the timebomb/lockout (the latest being 32.0.0.371), or find a way to get rid of it.

It loads the stage, but the resolution of the Flash player is not large enough to see everything. You can view the block menu by enabling “Small stage mode”, but that's about it

I've tried it using the extension, but this is some stuff I've tried and can't do:
1. Placing blocks (they just disappear or something I don't really know, I can only make the define block appear)
2. Changing sprite/costume/sound/backdrop names
3. Moving blocks
4. New project

besides ruffle doesn't support actionscript 3, and conveniently for you, scratch 2.0 was written in actionscript 3.

It does now, but support for it is still incomplete (so Scratch 2.0 isn't very usable on Ruffle yet).

It barely works, like it loads and you can create custom blocks, vars, and lists, but you can't actually make scripts because if you place a block from the palette into the code area, it will just not be there (at least with the browser extension), and it just doesn't allow you to move the define hat blocks (there is also other issues).
