Become a Curator on the Scratch Homepage
I have applied for curator before but I don't think I got my full message across, so here I go again.
The curator position has made many peoples lives on scratch change hugely. I would really like to join that process of changing peoples lives. It doesn't only just make the user happy it also gives the user good feedback on their project that they wouldn't get otherwise, they become a better scratcher from it and it helps them prepare for becoming a better programmer in the future. (As I've realized from recently being curated by @dragonturnip)
Why should you choose me? You should choose me because I want to give new and unpopular scratchers their chance to shine and feel like they are really a part of scratch. Now focusing on the “me” portion because I am sure people say that first part plenty of times. I believe I am a helpful scratcher that helps other scratchers out when they need help. For example one person asked “How can I make a platform game?” so I made a project that taught them how and why you put these different scripts on your project. But I'm not applying for this job for myself I'm applying for it. For all the people I can help, and this leads me into my next portion, what types of projects would I curate?
I would curate projects that have under 50 loves and the users have less than 50 followers. The types of projects I would look for are unique projects that show a different side of scratch. I would curate different types of projects, games, simulations, animations etc… The projects would give new scratchers the feeling of “keep on going”, “I hope I can be that good at scratch” and “Wow scratch really can produce high quality games” all these are how I felt when I say @Ylie ‘s arm/claw project (excuse me if I spelt that wrong), who’s name escapes me at the time. I would curate simulation type projects like http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/19658537/ and game projects like http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/19528879/ and http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/16446053/
That is why I believe I should be the next curator, thanks for reading and scratch on.

Become a Curator on the Scratch Homepage
Hi scratch team
I would like to become a curator.I have never applied before but I would love to become one. I have seen to many projects that are brilliant and deserve many more loves / favorites. I would only curate about 3 / 4 projects a day or sometimes less. All the projects I would curate would have under about 10 loves and so on. I would only curate projects suitable for all ages and ethnicities on scratch. I would probably create projects like these two.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/19315132/
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/17385033/
I have picked those to show you because they are educational and artistic.
-Thanks

Hello Scratch Team!
I'm a fairly new scratcher (with a “scratcher” status), I've set many goals ever since I started programming.
At first: I wanted to become a full scratcher.
I've achieved that when I participated and gave constructive feedback, and respected others.
I learned how it feels to be unnoticed and not seen, so I would like to help by curating some unpopular projects to let those scratchers know they're appreciated and known to the rest of the community. Being curated changed a lot of scratchers' lives enormously.
I would like to curate projects like:
-Fun, interesting platform games with lots of action
-Cool and scratch friendly OSes
-Amazing games that are well programmed and has addicting game-play
-Simulations and animations that resemble the diversity of the scratch community
-And animations that are nicely drawn but receive fewer attention than they deserve
Because they should be noticed by everyone and deserve the attention.
Thanks for your time! I hope you consider the request.

Ugh. Shouldn't we all just give up on this idea? It's a lost cause people. Just hope that you get picked to be a curator, because I DOUBT that the scratch team pays attention to every comment, leaving somebody or another left in the shadow… Obviously, you guys are still going to try and most likely fail… There is a low chance of you precisely getting picked out of the bunch people, and because of this, this studio is pretty useless. I most likely will never get to curate, and I wish I could. The scratch team probably skims through these comments (without reading them), and chooses just based on whatever person that somehow got lucky. I think it shouldn't be based on luck.
It should be based on the person themselves, and everyone should get a chance… Whatever. This comment is probably just a waste of time, isn't it?

If you pick me as a curator, I will pick simple and challenging projects. I would like to make lesser known scratchers become popular through the Scratch community. Thank you for considering my application.

Become a Curator on the Scratch Homepage
Hello
I would like to be a curator because it would be an amazing oppertunity to spread projects that are downright amazing but just aren't getting enough attention simply because they are by a little known scratcher.
I would curate project's like …
1: I have a thing for simple yet very pleasing games so I'd probaly curate a few of those. eg : http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/16268868/
2: Project's that simply make my jaw drop. eg : http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/16268868/
3: I will do my best to curate projects that are in different languages as I feel that multilingual projects are rarely on the front page. ( I will curate origanal projects not just projects that have been translated as that would be unfair on the origanal creator)
4:educational projects , projects that are educational but fun at the same time
5: project that have had time and effort into them
I will of course not curate any project that is in any way offensive to ANYONE and if I discover that a curated project is offensive I will set about finding a replacement imediatly. ( and obviously I won't curate anything inappropriate)
I will add a single new project every day as I find that when people change all 5 at once people just don't bother to check them all out.
Thanks for reading this application

So many off-topic posts. This post is my application for the Curator position at Scratch.
What types of projects would I add? I not only enjoy seeing hard-core educational projects that promote learning but I also appreciate games that promote learning of any kind. I was a regular on Scratch a few years ago and am back now and seeing the diversity of the users of Scratch is the most fun part about sharing them in the first place. The interactive community of Scratch has been key of my own learning of programming in general, so I enjoy more simple and complex projects, if that word is even defined! The type of projects I would add could fall into almost any educational category, really. However, here are a few specifics that I may lean towards:
- Physics Classroom Projects
- Physics Fun Projects: Games, etc.
- Scientific Art
- Mathematical Art
- Educational Games
- Engineering challenges
- Sports and games that I enjoy. I usually don't like internet games (as an example, I have never played a video game in my life - the gameboy type) but I have seen some irresistible games on Scratch in the past which have helped me relax. I would add these types of projects as well.
- I would also add any project that makes me smile and makes the community feel better. Inspirational projects are rare to find so, when I do find one that sends out a bold message, I'll definitely add it.
- Projects of any kind whose music has added a lot of vibrance. I enjoy music a lot. As a pianist and cellist, good music really hits me. I'll definitely promote it.
A few things I would **not** add:
- Violent, obscene, hurtful, or any negative type of project.
- Remixed projects whose originals aren't much different - I would add the original instead.
- Projects that have already received extremely high recognition on Scratch. I would like to add underdogs a bit more since I feel the job of a curator is to promote the unnoticed.
Why I feel I am fit for this task: As aforementioned, I have learned from my mistakes in Scratch and the excellent advice of some users on the site, especially our very own Paddle2See, scmb1, dapontes, nevit, and DrSuper. These seniors have galvanized me to in turn appreciate projects that require the care they deserve. I also feel that I am now more mature than I was a few years ago to handle this task. Can I take up the job for 2 weeks? Any time! I will frequent Scratch once more and am not thinking of a day where I will not visit Scratch.
Literally, that's all I have to say. Thank you for the opportunity!
Wow, that's a great speech! And, you are going to be a curator starting march 31st, according to you and speakvisually! Congrats!

hey bro that's a pretty good meme xD!

No, that's not what happens. The Scratch Team actually reads every speech in order and they consider the people with the best speeches. Write an amazing speech and you can become a curator!

Hi, I would like to be a curator on Scratch.
I would like to see some nice simple projects, or even advanced ones by not really noticed Scratchers. I would normally see games and animations, as they are what I like and a majority of projects are these types, I would also see others.
I wouldn't add any projects by super famous Scratchers or well noticed ones, unless they beat all I see. Negative projects are also out, totally.
I would be great for this because I love exploring on Scratch, see the possibilities, find great projects and help not really noticed Scratchers get noticed, if they worked hard on it and get some inspiration to others since they don't find these kind of great projects. I would want to get the most of Scratch explored, however it's still endless.

Dear Scratch team,
I'm applying to be curator. I'm pretty sure when someone wants to make a project on Scratch they say to themselves “I hope people enjoy this” but after they share their project, no one seems interested in their project. But I want to change that.
Here's what I'll look for if you choose me as curator,
Unknown creative games, animations, stories, etc.

Hi I am Jared Emerson and I am celebrating my one year of being on scratch! To celebrate, I would like to become a curator. I have never been a curator and I really would like to be one. I have a great taste in projects and I am not selfish. Even if i could, i would not post my one projects to be curated! I think that kind of defeats the Perpis. If i am curator then i try to find really good projects that have very little views that deserve a lot of attention. I hope i will be a curator soon!!!
set [Jared is] too [awesome!]

Dear Scratch Team,
As you very well know, Scratch is growing by manifolds. Just some days back, it was celebrating 5 million projects!
Its difficult to search for good projects which require attention in between so many projects. In this way, some projects end up getting ignored
and forgotten no matter how much hard work the Scratcher had been in to make that project. I think that the aim of this curating is to bring these
projects into the light and make them recognized. So I recommend myself to be the next curator. Please consider it.
If you don't make me the curator, it is okay, i understand. I won't be self-centered. I know there are many applicants
and to find mine to be perfect between hundreds of them is seemingly impossible.
But if I do become curator, the ignored projects won't be forgotten anymore. They will be brought onto the stage, encouraging
the Scratchers to make more and more interesting projects. The projects with less than 20 favourites and love-its will become the top-loved and favourited.
The Scratchers with less than 100 followers will be followed by everyone.
I won't add my own projects. I wasn't, am not and will not be selfish.
Please take my application to account. I will be much obliged.
Please don't reject me by seeing my profile picture. I know its the default one and I also know how to change it. But it
doesn't work in my computer no matter what! I hope you take this matter into account along with the application.
THANK YOU!
