Disable new topics in suggestions temporarily for new updates
Read The op first
Because of the color change
Scratchers are now posting too much duplicate topics
even with a sticky
this goes to other new updates
mostly policy changes, accessibility, UI changes, and other stuff
forumers is definitely going to disagree with me

Not all moderators can do this. When I was a moderator, I had no way of disabling the ability to make new topics in a specific forum. Moderators can enable or disable new topics in a few clicks, so it doesn't require a code deploy
Anyway, I don't think there are so many duplicates that we need to disable posting new topics in Suggestions completely.

I was going to suggest this too, where they remove the “New Topic” button in Suggestions like they did on April Fools' Day 2021.

Is there a way to just make a banner on the forums that says “do not post topics about reverting or changing the banner color, use this one”?

The duplicate topics get closed and then pushed down further into the suggestions forum — out of sight, out of mind. Later, its going to build up and now there is so many duplicate topics

No support.
While a lot of us (myself NOT included) are mad about the new color change, this has sparked new actually good suggestions or brought back old ideas that would of never been found again. We literally have stickied a topic about changing the nav bar / site colors, when ST haven't thought much of the idea (or maybe they have and now is the idea's time to shine!).
We also have to remember that “angry” scratchers should be heard. They do have (for the most part) valid criticism. They may have alternative ideas to this update. Even then, those who support the update also may have valid criticism or ideas that should be heard.
Here, you're telling Scratchers that after a major update, we should be silenced in the correct forum where we're supposed to be allowed to give criticism or provide new ideas to make Scratch the best it can be. ST heard us for the Studio Update (which, reminder, went terribly with many, many Scratchers), and while we haven't seen any changes for studios, they heard our arguments. Not to mention that they heard our new ideas, and even the new problems that arised.
Despite if an update is good or bad in a Scratcher's opinion (along with how ST thinks of it), they shouldn't be silenced. While some of us may argue just to argue, most of us (specifically here!) actually have amazing ideas and reasoning to support something that could help Scratch. Most of us here have the site as our top priority. We don't want to see it go nor do we want to lose it. But we also have to be able to use it without any issues. We also want it to be assessable to everyone. So if we want that all to happen, we shouldn't be unable to give criticism or ideas after a major update.
TL;DR: If we disable the Suggestions forum after a major update, ST will lose genuinely good ideas that would of made Scratch an amazing place for everyone.

Yes, I know that Scratch updates essentially send a swarm of people to the suggestions forum looking for Black Friday deals, but it also introduces them to the suggestions forum, and entices people to create more ideas they have to make Scratch better.
So, how are people going to propose a suggestion (that gets noticed and venerated) without the “New Topic” button.

This will not be useful.
You see, trying to slience people who disagree would make them even mad, and the whole website is basically flooded with "I don't like this update."
Also, it wouldn't be fair to a user who's posting irrelevent suggestions, especially for those who don't know the update.
It might also be against freedom of speech…

Once the button comes back (even if it's a week afterwards), there will still be people who will go right back to posting suggestions and nothing will have changed.

This would not silence anybody who wants to post about how they don't like the purple- if they want to talk about it, they can use the topic that is literallyg stickied at the top of the page. Creating a new topic about it is against the guidelines of the forums anyway because knowingly making duplicate topics just so more people see your rant is frowned upon.

This will not be useful.Suggestions is no longer accepting new topics because of this

its now accepting it again they remove the “New Topic” button in Suggestions like they did on April Fools' Day 2021.
And if there is so many updates just for accessibility
scratchers will just spam new topics about it
and most of the time it will be duplicate topics
even with a sticky
scratchers don’t read the stickies

Another thing that could have happened though is that the users saw the announcement due to the banner appearing This would not silence anybody who wants to post about how they don't like the purple- if they want to talk about it, they can use the topic that is literallyg stickied at the top of the page. Why would it build up after an update? Once more people get accustomed to an update, less people would make topics about it, right?Later, its going to build up and now there is so many duplicate topics Anyway, I don't think there are so many duplicates that we need to disable posting new topics in Suggestions completely.
