Why is the bar going to be purple?why not another blue?

Why can’t they make it optional?

There has been an active suggestion on customizing colors, which has been around since 2018 and that we're well aware of (as it is active to this day). However, it's important to understand that choosing to make the color purple optional would add an awful lot of extra time to something that is more necessary - delaying a change to a colorblind-friendly purple color to prioritize aesthetic looks over functionality and accessibility issues would be really unfair.

It's a bit like when a building manager installs a long-overdue walking ramp for those with mobility issues - it would be really weird to not add it because people didn't like the color of the railing. The rail color can be changed at any point, but it's not a priority or necessity.

It's purple because of the current ‘Looks’ category of the Scratch blocks.

I honestly love the color blue they use for Scratch 3.0. But they have decided to change it, so we all have to agree on it..

Scratch 2.0 seems to use a slightly dark blue-green-ish color. I want to say it's some shade of dark cyan, but I don't think it's that close to cyan. Though they really want to go with purple for the next update to help those with disabilities, so we'll just have to deal with it, or something.

Also, I realized that the current blue in 3.0 is the same color blue as the ‘Motion’ blocks category of 3.0….. I'm just saying.
