Dear Scratch Team,

I am writing to you today because I am concerned about the use of high-frequency blocks in Scratch. I have noticed that there are a growing number of blocks that require users to click on them very quickly in order to use them. This can be difficult for some users, especially those with disabilities or who are not used to using computers.

I understand that the use of high-frequency blocks can be helpful for creating games and storys. However, I believe that they should be used sparingly. I would like to see more blocks that allow users to control the speed of their projects. This would make Scratch more accessible to a wider range of users.

I would also like to see more documentation and tutorials about how to use high-frequency blocks. This would help users to learn how to use them effectively.

Those are high CONTRAST, not frequency. They are also optional.

The new high-contrast blocks don't require you to click very quickly … they're the exact same blocks, just in different colors.

Im sure youll get used to them. I heard somewhere people really hated removing the Discuss Forum tab, and they hated the 3.0 studios, but I dont hear people talking about them anymore, either.

The high contrast blocks are optional, though I wish I could revert to the 2.0 blues (by this I mean the highlight colors and the navbar color outside of the editor).

Yeah, though I don't think it's the case with the topbar/header.

Plus, you don't have to enable them if you don't want to…

The other exciting change will appear in the Project Editor. Scratchers will now have the option to use High Contrast blocks, which will be easier for some people to read. You'll be able to change this color mode inside of the Editor. You can always change the color mode back or decide not to try High Contrast blocks at all!

The change to purple doesn't look like it will be an option, but I think we will get used to it and eventually come to like it as much as the blue (imagine if this was what it was like this whole time, does that make you feel better?)

As per the video, high contrast block are going to be toggable, so just toggle to whichever view you need.

There's an active suggestion on custom view site themes here. You will have to stick with colorblind-friendly purple for now, though.
