Legal Question

If I were to draw a character and upload it to Scratch and then years later upload a game with the character in it to, say, Steam, would I get in any trouble for that?
Edit: Btw I know I asked something similar a while ago but it was making the game and then uploading it and stuff. If my memory serves me right that is.

Currently hosting a Game Jam!
The Pink Studio! (chatting studio)
Roleplay with Mirabella! (the character in my PFP)
GameMaker is more flexible than Scratch and easier to use and create things with. Hmmmm.
I am a GameMaker dev who used to use Scratch. I'm still on here but won’t be making large projects.
I am going to forever be remembered as a cat boy on the forums aren’t I?

Legal Question

What exactly do you mean? Do you mean using your own art years later?

Yes, that's allowed. You can use your own art.

Scratch Team, please fix this bug preventing studio descriptions from being blank.

Really? Isn't it under creative commons?

Creative Commons is a special license that allows others to use your work under certain conditions. It does not have any bearing on how you use work (which could be for anything in any way you want).

So if you create a character and upload it to Scratch, then want to use it in Steam, you can do that; but be aware that releasing it on Scratch can also mean that other people can use said character in a Steam game as long as their usage of your character follows the Creative Commons License.

Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.
