Hol'up, I gotta meme for this…

The most absurd part is that they're most likely sueing them over Pokeballs!
In Japan, Nintendo owns the concept of spherical objects that you throw to catch monsters.
I hope Palworld wins, Nintendo needs to be humbled.
you're telling me that companies can own something like that?

perhaps palworld should use cubes then

In Japan, yeah.
They tried to file the same patent in the U.S., but it was rejected for obvious reasons.

Nintendo is on another level of stupid. Why would you even do that?! It's not like other people had ideas of monster collecting games where you do the same thing like Pokemon would.

I can see how they'd want to sue them though, being that it's a monster collector with the 2nd Amendment involved. But yeah, unless Nintendo gets out, TPCI's PR is screwed.

As someone who's played Palworld during the hype, I can defintiely tell you the 2nd Amendment is involved. It's involved a lot. What isn't involved however, is the Geneva Conventions

that's not entirely accurate. the patent is for the specific way that Pokéballs work in Legends: Arceus. here is the patent if you wanna take a read for yourself- it's pretty darn dense.

from what i can tell- though take it with a huge pile of salt because i am by no means a patent lawyer- the thing they're patenting is specifically a system where you can switch between at least two modes, one of which allows you to aim with “a second operation input” and fire an item that "affects a field character […] in the aiming direction“ with ”a third operation input“, and a second of which allows you to, again, aim with ”a second operation input“ and fire a ”combat character“ with ”a third operation input“.

the point being, it's nothing to do with ”spherical objects that you throw to catch monsters“ (although if Palworld didn't want to be seen as a Pokémon knockoff then perhaps using the exact same naming scheme for their ”Pal Spheres“ wasn't the smartest move). it's more to do with an aiming mode which switches between firing objects, and firing ”combatants".

i remain unsure whether this is better or worse, to be honest.

Just like to be dramatic every so often.

Clawitzer is very forgettable, but it's got a cool name. (claw+Howitzer)

Gen 5 was pretty good. To be honest, I'm a Genwunner, but as long as it's not Gen 7 it's a good gen.

Speaking of the worst generation, we're almost to 7…. we're on Helioisk

SCARLET AND VIOLET SPOILERS
If you haven’t listened to either version of this cover by Junosongs, go do it NOW.

There’s one lyric in it I find really interesting, being “I tamed my death” because Sada/Turo both literally tamed what k¡lled them ( Koraidon/Miraidon ), as well as figuratively taming their death by rebuilding themselves as robots, essentially taming death itself
