Are snap! files actually safe.

snap! does seem like my next go to. It may be easier to learn this since it's like scratch. But the windows antivirus says that the snap! files can be harmful. I can't tell if this is legit or this is false and actually safe to download. Anyone can help with this I don't know if this is a good fit in the forum but I think so.

Scratch and snap are almost the same, you should really move on to a text based language, not snap.

Just make sure you downloaded the right thing.

I’ve had Windows tell me the Scratch download is harmful. Just as long as you download it from an official source, you’re ok.

I'm not really moving on to it I just want to have another block based coding app to use.

So if I download it from the actual snap it would be fine. Right?

Microsoft Edge thinks too many things are viruses. This specific XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is fine, it won't give you a virus, especially if you only open it in Snap.

I think Edge marks it as unsafe because Windows might use XML files for some specific internal reason. It's kind of like how .js files are labelled as JScript* files by default

Yeah but isn't XML data-only? The only reason it could be unsafe is if your parser has a bug, but then everything is technically unsafe
