Where have my scripts gone?

I am trying to make my first scratch. When I went to add a new background, all of my scripts disappeared. If I go to the project page screen, my program still runs, but when I return to the “see inside” section, I can't see my scripts anywhere. Any suggestions?

Wait… So you are saying that every background has a different script section?

Example:
On Backround 1:

when green flag clicked
switch backdrop to [1]

On Backround 2:

when I receive [Start the Game!!!!]
switch backdrop to [2]

i have just experienced this problem today but this is the New 2019 version and i dont know what to do? I am trying to make a game on scratch. There is a bug in Scratch 3 with some projects. You should report the project.

Yeah I am having the same exact problem. It is all very strange because whenever I add a new background, my scripts completely disappear. I can tell they are still there somewhere as when I click on my sprite, it still runs under the commands that I gave it, however, my scripts are nowhere to be seen. I'm not sure how to get them back. This is incredibly confusing. I suppose I'll keep on trying to find them again. What an annoying problem for Scratch to have.
