Which version of Scratch are you trying to make hacked blocks in, and which hacked block are you trying to create?

You click quote (don’t quote the original post though for the most part), and you can get the text they just said.
Though I’m not sure exactly.

The forums work pretty simple. Scratchers may try to correct you if you did something wrong, this isn't minimodding or anything but it is endorsed. The forums work a lot different then scratch. There are more unspoken rules so even if you read the terms of use and commuity guidelines, you could end up doing something wrong.

Read stickied/ pinned posts in forums for more information on how they work.

I'm on Scratch 2.0, I think. Scratch 3.0 is mobile device Scratch. I can't find the “project.json” that all Hacked Blocks instructors use to create their hacked blocks.

Scratch 3.0 isn't mobile device Scratch, it is the only version available for mobile devices, but it's the current version of Scratch and the only one available to use online. Scratch 3.0 was released in 2019.

Hey, randomguy3513, I can't read your whole message. Is there a way to scroll down in Scratch forums? At least the bottom of your message is cut off.

That is just their signature, it's below most people's posts and not part of the main post. There is a way to scroll down in signatures but it isn't really a necessary part of the post. You may just ignore that part.

So then yes, I'm on Scratch 2.0? I'm on a PC.

Unless you deliberately downloaded an outdated version of Scratch, you are using Scratch 3.

Or, you are @medians

Can you send a screenshot of what your editor looks like?
Use an image host for this.

I got Scratch a long time ago, but only recently started actually coding again. I don't remember if I had to download something or not.

Sorry. I don't know how to take screenshots, or access them. I know I've accidentally taken them before, but I don't know how to do it on purpose.

I believe for Scratch 1.4 you had to download the editor to make projects, but since then Scratch has been completely online with the option for a downloaded offline editor.

Oh, okay. is there a way to go to see when someone adds a new post in reply to my comment & where exactly it is? I just get the message that there are new posts but not what they replied to & where it is. Even though I just started this new forum topic, there's a lot of posts, & I'm having trouble finding the spots where I want to reply.

Again, I don't remember. Would it have updated my account automatically to Scratch 3.0 if I got Scratch before 3.0 was a thing?
