Currently the what I'm working on and About me don't support all of Unicode including these emojis: https://emojipedia.org/transgender-flag/ and https://emojipedia.org/rainbow-flag/

Allowing support for this would allow people to show solidarity for the LGBT+ community and would be a great way to boost the diversity and inclusivity of the scratch community.

A way of doing this would be to use the custom scratch emojis:


You would be able to type the emojis like in comments

_pride_

and they would be converted for other users.

I don't think any emojis are supported for profiles.

How would it detect which flag to use?

Scratch has a limited Unicode compatibility so that may be the reason why, but usually that just ends up in question marks…

Many emojis fall outside of the Basic Multilingual Plane(or whatever its called), which is what Scratch supports.

At least that's what I think you're talking about.

no the custom scratch emojis can be typed in comments by adding an underscore (_) around certain words (_pride_). when posted this is replaced by an image. this does still count towards the character limit though which reduces emoji spam.

users can't create emojis, that would have too much potential for misuse

this would be very nice to have but i also don't think emojis are even supported on profiles
u could support them on profiles and then just have a bunch of flag emojis
