✦ i'd say i have plenty experience in most fields of writing, but there is always room for improvemenet. wether i win sonnet or not, this won't be my last application writing is an outlet for creativity and it helps me explore things i wouldn't normally know about myself <3 i've started writing since i was very young, and i still have a passion for writing to this day. this is my fourth ever application, and i have taken a lot of losses. initially, i didn't want to show these, but after some long thought, i've decided to showcase all of my previous applications to show my writing journey. via the below is all of my applications in chronological order!

ꕀ roleplaying experience┊
✦ being truly transparent, roleplaying experience isn't the greatest thing you will read on here. ever since when i first joined the wcrp community in the beginning of 2023, i've only done really short, two sentence long generations roleplays, heavy with cringey dialogue, but every once in a while, i would try to go long winded and have a medium roleplay with someone. i generally try to match whoever i roleplay with. but i can get past it nowadays. the secret was, my eyes had always been on the four clans. i'd always felt like winning a litter would be a huge accomplishment, so i had tried for a few. as you can likely deduce from the above, i've only won once. caperfinch, being my first and only character is my beloved! i've been a member of this specific community since… june of 2024, which clearly isn't the best.

✦ i've had multiple characters that aren't from tfcrp, the most notable of which being tunascale, a flurryclan warrior from generations (february 2023-february 2024). i had shown a lot of dedication to him predating my inactivity. he had his own mate—salmonstrike, and kits—albacore, mackerel, mako, and guppy, all of which's roleplayers have fell of the edge of the earth when i returned to roleplay (except for albacore's, i believe). i too have a new warrior from generations, eraplanet, but i haven't had much time to roleplay with her unfortunately!

✦ i like matching the other roleplayer’s length, but my minimal for writing is about 2 full comments in length. sometimes i feel a bit long winded and do more, but that is my estimate. i enjoy putting a lot of details into the character’s emotions and the environment.

ꕀ who am i applying for?┊
✦ the kit i'm applying for? it is none other than the gorgeous sonnet! i won't go into much reasoning here except for she is absolutely stunning, so read on for my reasoning.

ꕀ why am i applying?┊
✦ one, what more do i need to say than sonnet has a brilliant design. i am not that well educated in the litter scene, let alone the tfcrp scene, but trust me when i say that sonnet is genuinely one of the best designs i've seen for a kit. i love characters with a warm color palette, and sonnet is no exception to this. the design and patterns are so relaxing to stare at, and she also has been nothing but a delight to draw. it’s the type of design that gives you thousands of ideas, regardless of what they may be! another reason is of course, family. i’m not personally acquainted or even met with any of the role players, but i believe that they will be great people to roleplay with. third, not one of my main reasons so i will be keeping this short. i have a majestic second slot waiting to be filled, and id be happy to have it filled with a riverclan character <3 riverclan seems like a very interesting clan to join, and i’ve always wanted to join it ever since i joined the tfcrp community.

✦ until the very day the sun explodes and tragically kiIls the entire solar system. …okay thats not happening as long as im alive but with all seriousness, i’d say any character i own is guaranteed to live up to 40+ moons, which should be enough time to give them their arc and their resolution. even past that, i would keep sonnet as long as the admins will allow me to keep her. i don’t see why i would feel any inclination to kiIl off characters. it does nothing but completely waste an amazing character design and a concept. the only way i could even consider kiIling a character of is if life unexpectedly strikes me and i am unable to continue roleplaying sonnet.

⤷ “ ‘is there a reason to lying?’ sonnetkit often asks to others. unlike most other cats who may feel otherwise, sonnet’s soul never to be tainted by lies and deception, or at least that is she appears. honest is one of her strongest moral codes, one that she abides by with her life. though she means well, her morals can make her appear too honest, not many asking for her opinion on certain topics, since she may reply in a way in which comes off catty or intentionally hurtful, but she is quick to apologize. apprehension will only result in the truth spilling from her, no sugar-coated lies that put her in a better light, just the truth as she sees it, wether it be in her own favor or not. sonnet is willing to take many vows, and it is fairly difficult to find her breaking said promises. when provided with one’s deepest, darkest secret, sonnet holds understanding to hard it can be to open up to others, and will never tell a soul about it, bringing said secret to her grave, even if she is at the darkest of terms with the other. whatever hate she has inside her for others, it will not lead to her breaking her it’s this honesty that result in her getting in slightly more trouble, which is exactly the sacrifice that sonnet feels like she needs to make in order to appear more trustworthy and generally feel like a better person, all but her authentic self. ”

⤷ there’s nobody sonnet respects more than her father. she tries her hardest to stay on his good side and be a good daughter. every move sonnet makes is careful to gain cel’s approval and not upset him and what not. overall, sonnet wants to stay close to him no matter what.

⤷ sonnet finds his rigid attitude a bit annoying and hard to reach to, but nonetheless she loves him very much. sonnet enjoys spending quality time with rhapsody, but she is a bit jealous of him for his intellect. listening to his thoughts is quite entertaining to her, even if she doesn’t completely understand what he is saying. sonnet, trusting rhapsody’s wisdom would likely ask lots of questions to him due to her curiosity.

⤷ sonnet finds deli quite off-putting, maybe a bit annoying, but to say the least, she doesn’t like fidelity’s antics, it’s hard to say she really dislikes delia though.

✦ solacepaw “his sister”
⤷ it’s hard to find sonnet’s view on solacepaw, celestialrhyme’s late sister. sonnet is aware that solacepaw is the reason for lament’s name, and finds it quite poetic, so to say the least, she respects solacepaw. she is the ancestor in sonnet’s eyes, and even though sonnet isn’t her legacy, she still feels desperate to prove herself to solacepaw, maybe at the hopes that she will be proud of her.

✦ bumblebeeoddysey “aunt bee”
⤷ again, it’s difficult to find sonnet’s view on bumblebeeoddysey. nene would likely just feel like bee is a mystery and feel undying curiosity towards her, and maybe a bit more outside of that, but it’s hard to say now ^^

✦ riverclan “the oasis of dreams”
⤷ sonnet is pretty split on her opinion regarding riverclan. of course, she feels nothing but pride for her clan. it’s not like other clans intrigue sonnet more than riverclan, and if given a proper choice, she would likely stay in riverclan. riverclan is the clan that brings out nene’s best, but she can’t look past her image of riverclan and the reality, resulting in her seeing dissatisfaction and feeling but disillusioned and trapped.

✦ other clans “the others”
⤷ “boring and uncreative”, as she puts it. only the overall aesthetics of the clan matter to her. thunderclan and shadowclan are nothing but boring to her, meaning the only clan that really intrigues sonnet is windclan, due to their similar desert environments, except riverclan is diurnal, windclan is not, and riverclan has bodies of water, and windclan does not, or at least that’s far as she knows.

✦ outside of the clans “just not my business”
⤷ to put it simply, sonnet doesn’t care about anybody outside of the clans. their territory is not clan territory, so why should it matter to her? though she seem harsh, sonnet allows a little empathy for them. if the time were to come, she’d lend them assistance in any way she can, but outside of that, she doesn’t betray any care or emotion for them.

✦ starclan “the land of the stars”
⤷ starclan is an interesting topic in the eyes of sonnet. the idea of afterlife and gods are nothing but intriguing to her, but she has her issues with the system. this can be found in her obsession with being remembered. she finds it cruel how some—no, most cats will mean nothing to the history of the clans, but there is not much she can do about it due to her beliefs. other than that, she both fears and respects starclan, hoping to be her best and join with the stars someday.

✦ the dark forest “only a story to scare”
⤷ sonnet doesn’t really believe in the dark forest. she even has created her own belief for it (sorry if this isn’t allowed), where any cats who are morally dark will be cast from starclan and will become ‘wanderers’ as she calls it, or spirits who can do nothing but traverse the living world without having any power or possible effect on the clans.

✦ destiny “an unchangeable factor of life”
⤷ better stated in the fatalistic section, sonnet is one of the strongest believers of fate, and that includes the idea that destiny is set in stone for everybody, and there is no reversing anybody's fate. she finds quotes like “you can change your destiny!” plain stupid; starclan has a purpose for everyone, and why would anybody want to change their own purpose that the very stars gave them?

✦ music : since no music really exists in tfcrp, she just likes rhythm a lot. (in forms like humming and paw tapping)
✦ trinkets : as a very decorative cat, nothing pleases sonnet more than small accessories, or even just ornaments that she can fiddle with. :
✦ fantasy : fantasies are always fun for sonnet. fun fact—most of her fantasies are based around magic or supernatural things in some kind of way.
✦ daydreaming : daydreaming is addictive, and since she has maladaptive daydreaming, she is constantly immersed in these daydreams and yearns for them all the time.

✦ bugs : bugs are just gross to her. sonnet has quite a dislike for weird sensations, and bugs are annoying and distracting.
✦ large change : sonnet isn't great at adapting to new environments. she gets overwhelmed easily, and likes working at her own pace, so usually, big changes aren't for her :') large change also causes her to descend into panic and learning about the tsd destruction will certainly not help this case.
✦ the idea of reality : due to her vivid and unrealistic daydreaming, she normally grows unsatisfied with reality when it isn't as great as it is through her rose-tinted glasses.
✦ not being picked : ties into her obsession with validation and not being forgotten.

✦ has always been a daydreamer at heart. she is quite fond of the idea of fairytales and magic, often imagining herself in these type of scenarios. (without knowing this will turn into an obsession and develop into maladaptive daydreaming. as a kitten it will be minor but as she enters her apprenticeship, she will not seem to do anything else)
✦ sonnet doesn't have much care for nicknames. sometimes she makes nicknames for her family members, but she doesn’t use them normally and definitely won’t use nicknames for others. with that said, she won't protest if others try to make a nickname for her. nicknames all around are a gray area to her, as long as she knows they are addressing her. she likes nicknames like nene or netty. any cat who roleplays with her are welcome to make more.
✦ sonnet often hums to herself while doing activities she finds uninteresting. she sometimes writes songs about whatever is on her mind, most of which either is atrocious or she forgets the whole song by the next sunrise. (does anybody do this in the shower?)
✦ sonnet manages to find a melody in everything, and has developed her own sense of rhythm in her own pawsteps. speaking of pawsteps, she has basically recognized every cat’s pawsteps, especially her family members'.
✦ sonnet has sensory issues. an influx of new sounds and scents will cause her to feel overstimulated; even being near a verbal fight will cause her to grow overwhelmed. surprisingly used to most settings with a lot of cats.
✦ finds some things creepy, this includes slugs, insects, arachnids, and sometimes even other cats. cats that are overly energetic creep her out, but she doesn’t mind playing along. she is also scared by things easier than normal cats do, and is quite jumpy.
✦ sonnet is terrible at taking criticism in a way. she takes it in the most literal and often personal manner, striving to become better, but still, she is never satisfied with herself.
✦ unaware of her self deprecating behavior. once upon a time, she was authentic, happy, friendly, but later on, she started actively searching for parts of herself that might be considered unlikeable, uncreative, boring. which in a way stunts her mental growth. she tries to be the best she could possibly be, but it’s also near impossible to her in the mindset she currently holds.
✦ she tends to not speak up when others hurt her, but the only time you will see her get into a full-on argument with someone is when they hurt her friends. she is near relentless with her curses and insults.

✦ at the first meeting with a new cat, sonnet appears quite ditzy and compassionate while maintaining an aura of elegance. she acts intelligent and fancy, but what she says isn’t complex, making following her words too easy to understand. to sonnet, first impressions mean everything to her. while she doesn't necessarily agree with judging books based on their cover or their first page, a well-composed, eloquent first impression could decide if another cat likes her or not.

ꕀ demeanor┊
✦ sonnet carries herself in a graceful yet openly expressive way. she uses little movements such as a twitch of her tail or whiskers as she speaks, curious tilts of her head, and much more movements that can make her appear energetic. the way she strides is almost as light as a feather, seeming as if she is floating. when sonnet is distracted, she usually rhythmically taps the ground with her tail. she is almost seraphic like a fairytale princess.

✦ sonnet's manner in which she speaks can be quite articulate and excessive. her voice is twain a song with melancholic undertones. each word she speaks is delicate and cautious. she treats her glossary as simple decoration to her own image, one that she stands by at all times. she adores integrating words she finds pretty into her speech with rhyme but no reason. in her kit moons, it would oftentimes take her a while to respond in conversations, but it helps her too avoid conflict and remain her cool and elegant demeanor. “think of your words before you speak,” she abides by this rule well, and encourages others to do the same. later on in life, she will adopt these speaking mannerisms completely, leaving little room for hesitation or stutter.
✦ i'd imagine sonnet to mix irish words into her vocabulary, a testament to her father's origins!
✦ i don’t know what her exact voice claim would be, but i'd imagine her voice would touching more on elegance than grandeur, more gentle and quiet.

ꕀ the lyrical┊ srp, 3 moons
✦ a whimsical she-kit sat at the entrance if the nursery, her forest green pools seeming to be in deep thought as she faced the sunset sky. this hour was one that brought her peace, yet she was in an inner dilemma herself.

sonnetkit. sonnet. nene. what even is a sonnet? she pondered. your name is a label that is supposed to represent yourself. if so, who is sonnetpaw? celestialrhyme. rhapsodykit. lamentkit. those were the names of her family members.
with a sigh, sonnetkit stared up at the sky. her long tail flicked. the sky was a sunset orange, covered in clouds kissed by a beautiful rose color, almost like father cel’s fur.
celestial. it represents divinity, or the heavens, impossibly far away. but something that seemed beautiful.
sonnetkit knew the sky was beautiful. it worked too. celestialrhyme is the heavens to nene, her lord, her savior, and so much more.
her siblings were simple enough as well.
rhapsody. a rhapsody is a type of song that was free-form, almost like a bird, yet expressive and meaningful.
it fitted him well. he was intelligent and knowledgeable. in a way, he had fit that definition well enough.
lament. a lament is a song that expresses sorrow or a mourning for something.
sonnet couldn’t say that this fit her personality, but father cel had once mourned for his sister. perhaps celestialrhyme had seen his sister in lamentkit.

on a surface level, sonnet fit right in with them, but what was a sonnet, honestly? as far as she knew, it was not a song.
a sonnet was a form of poetry, she had observed.
it’s not even a song. so what is it? she had thought.
can a rhapsody be in sonnet form?
can a lament be in sonnet form?
she felt like the odd one out again. a poetry was not a song. songs are a form of poetry, but not all songs can be in sonnet form.
why was she even named sonnet for?

sure, knowing what her name meant was one thing, but knowing who she was was another.
she knew who she was. “i am sonnetkit.” she whispered to herself soothingly, almost to comfort herself.
there was a world somewhere. a world where sonnet was destined to be.
except, that didn’t make her feel any less odd.

ꕀ the reverie┊ srp, 5 moons star is not a real cat, it is a figment of sonnet’s imagination
‘ a cream colored reverie woke up with a flutter of her eyes, the first rays of light entering her eyes. she blinked slowly, not yet ready to wake up, although a paw prodded at her flank. upon her was a cat-shaped figure coated in stars, translucent and light pink like a dreamy sky.
“why hello, dear sonnetkit,” it spoke, its voice comforting and gentle.
“who are you?” asked nene.
with a hearty laugh, it said “they call me just star. you will know me as the first ever star to appear in the night and i am the paragon of virtue and the heavens.”
“so i’ve observed,” sonnetkit said thoughtfully. “why have you come to me?”
“the clans are in danger, and you must be the one to help them,” star said, the edge of their mouth allowing a smile.
“how can i do that? how can i make a difference? i’m only a kit,” nene said modestly.
“listen. the stars are by your side at all times. you can see them and they can see you. they will help you. they will guide you.”

boring. stereotypical.

“but best of all, you are going to have the wings of a beautiful butterfly and have magic at the tips of your claws.”
that was enough to pique sonnetkit’s interest. “i’m down for it,” she said, and shortly after, star flicked their tail.
beautiful wings began to sprout at sonnet’s sides, and she felt a pulse at her claws. a sense of power and superiority, that is.
“but why did you choose me?” asked sonnetkit, staring closely into star’s glowing eyes that betrayed no emotion.
“you are my descendent. you will become leader someday yourself.”

sonnetstar. the name had a ring to it. ‘

“sonnetkit?” called a voice, waking sonnetkit up from the daydream that she had been utterly immersed in.
