How to uninstall Microsoft Publisher?

Any attempts to use IOBit Uninstaller to remove it simply removed Office itself.

Fun fact: If you have malware on a Windows NT device, it's possible that deleting system32 will severely damage the malware. It will also damage your Windows install.

Problem is, I can't reinstall Office, because it requires a new subscription.

From what I remember, Office 365 is linked to Microsoft accounts, meaning you don't need a new subscription for a new install. Why do you even want to remove Publisher? You could just ignore it

No.. it's just that Microsoft 365 is a better choice for Windows.

How to uninstall Microsoft Publisher?

Here's a guide:
Go to the Office directory (Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office*version*\root)
Remove the following files:
MSPUB.exe
MSPUB.dll
..\data\MSPUB (the folder)

I don't like manually removing installed software.

Leftover registry entries and other issues are annoying.

Remove these
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Office/Software/Publisher
Name the other reasons

That's windows for ya

On linux it's a simple
sudo apt remove microsoft-publisher-definatley-not-spyware

Of course the name would be different and depending on your distro you might need to use a different package manager.
