Scrolling backdrop

I feel like there should be a way to make the background scroll. It would loop around. You could use these blocks to control it:

scroll backdrop by () steps down :: looks
scroll backdrop by () steps right :: looks
set backdrop scroll to x: () y: () :: looks
(backdrop scroll on x axis) :: looks
(backdrop scroll on y axis) :: looks // pretend they're normal variables and not booleans
I also propose that existing backgrounds are redone to loop smoothly for this block. This would make it very simple for new scratchers to express their creativity without messing with clones.

Uses:
  • You could make a background with a road scroll to the left constantly, place down a car, and now it's driving along.
  • You could make a background with a grid, have it constantly scroll diagonally, and now you have a perfect cyber background.
  • You could make a space background, make it scroll down, place a rocket, and now it's blasting off.
  • You could make a cloudy background, place down the sprite of Scratch Cat flying, and now they're soaring through the air.

Here's what the blocks looked like (using v160):

Edit:
Also, it had the reporters you described (but just not in v160)

This would only be for the background. The sprites stay in the same spot.
Edit: Oops, I thought that the removed blocks moved the sprites too.

Yeah no, the backdrop in the 2.0 alpha used to be called “scene” until they most likely thought it was stupid and made it very similar to what it was in 1.x (aka the current name).

So my suggestion isn't a dupe?

Well it's really similar other than the fact that it has the x: y: thing, but you could likely emulate that by using the align background thing.
