Hello! Here’s a little game engine designed to help you get started with a Beat 'em Up or Action Adventure game in Scratch. The engine currently comes with the following features:

• Combo system with 3 punch and 3 kick animations
  
• Basic hit and knockout animations
  
• Easy to edit parallax and effect system for sprites and transitions
  

The sprites were made by Dogchicken on OpenGameArt and there are many other animations available! The backgrounds were generated with Lexica Art (a Stable Diffusion ai image generator) using some variations of the prompt: "Pixel art tokyo, synthwave palette, 3d pixel art 4k wallpaper, incredible pixel art details, flowers, lots of flowers in foreground"

Here are the spritesheets from the same set. Although they're available under (CC BY 3.0), please give credit to “Dogchicken from OpenGameArt” if you use or modify them for other works.





To cut these out into Scratch sprites, I used EzGIF's Split tool using 64x64 tiles. I then right click and saved the individual frames and then imported them into the Inputs: Cat Sprite. Unfortunately the sprites will be imported centered…but you'll actually want to nudge them up so that the bottom of the sprites line up with the center of the Sprite area, designated by the little circle

The engine only checks for a start and stop frame when doing animations, so you can name the frames whatever you want or leave them as is
